I talked with Dave at LaHarpe this year. I bought my 67z from him he had some parts that went with the car. I couldn't take them when I picked up the car. He was so worried about me getting them. A very special man. I will truly miss him. God bless you Dave.

Jason,
Thank you for informing us. I had just spoke with Dave last Wednesday and knew it would only be a very short time. Our heartfelt condolences to Carol and the kids, which I had the pleasure of meeting recently. Our hearts also go out to Dave's extened family as well. His son is destined to take over the reigns and was quite a mature young man when they visited here a couple months ago. Dave will be sorely missed not only as a friend but as a fellow hobbiest. He was deeply involved with not only his cars, but mostly his family and business. As of late, the gifts of life were his passion especially when he fell ill and he never let things pass him by. When he purchased Annie's LS-5 recently, I asked why he was buying a car when he had sold off most of his collection. He responded that he was in fact dying but was not going to wait around for it to happen and wanted to continue to enjoy them.

If anyone finds out the details of the funeral arrangements, please post them. Annie and I will be traveling Tuesday and Wednesday and would very much like to attend if possible.

Rest in peace Dave.........
Rick and Annie

Great guy. We all knew about his expertise in orig cars, Z16's etc but I was shocked when I saw what he did with that railroad town he built. A true bonus to many people's lives. He made a difference. If we could all do some of the things Dave did this earth would be a better place. R.I.P Dave.

Agreed Charlie... to restore and build a running STEAM railroad with track equipment and all is an undertaking men took on in the 1800's not this century... Dave's contributions show just what one man is truly capable of... he is an inspiration to many and in that respect he will always be here... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Does anyone know what became of the data from his web site? I see the site appears to be down and replaced with a Go Daddy stub page.
