Dennis and I just finished detailing this 53,000 original mile Electra. It's going to my friend, Andy's place. Great car and you don't see too many. Original paint, interior, drivetrain, etc.

Nice car! About 6-7 years ago I had a '67 Electra.... it was a 1 owner 130,000 mile black plate garage baby with the original paint... that was dark green with black interior.... the only negative about the car is that it was a 4 door.

Thanks guys. It seems like every one of these cars that you see are 4-doors in Gold, White, Brown or Green. We picked this one up because it was a red two-door with all of its original drivetrain and components. The sheetmetal is really nice. You can take the fender skirts off by hand. And I really dig 430 Buick Engines. Ed

Ed,
is that a Porsche I see in your garage?
It must feel like a cat in a dog park!

----Grant,,,You and I think alike, both in GPs and apparently this old Buick! For some reason I come back to this thread and look at these pics over and over. Just love this old big-body, and Im not even a big "RED" lover. Is it possibly for sale???......Bill S

Bill,

I've had it for over a year and we just finished it about a month ago. As soon as my friend, Andy, saw it he said he wanted it. So, its waiting to go to Connecticut. Sorry, Ed

Bill, like you... I could certainly see myself cruising down the highway in this beauty! Nice to see cars like this so well preserved.

Wow--I didn’t realize they have sections for each division now. It’s a nice new addition since I last visited the site. That is a very cool Buick Electra. When I was growing up-our neighbor had a brand new 1969 Electra convertible in the bronze/gold color. It was such a neat car. It seems everyone bought new cars in 1969-1970. The economy must have been doing well right then. Since I have gotten older, I have found my passion has switched to some degree to the bigger luxury cars. The big Chevrolet, Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles, and Buicks were just such great cars. I think the Muscle Cars have been so covered and have become so popular-it makes the other somewhat obscure cars more interesting & fun to look at. Beautiful car thanks for letting us see it! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/burnout.gif

WOW! Ed & Dennis told me about this car at MCACN last year but I never thought it would be so nice. Where do you dock that thing Ed? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif I Love it! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

On a somewhat related note, would you happen to have a lead on a set of those wheels? I was talking with a guy Sunday who's looking for a set for his recently purchased Electra Convert.

Dennis,

When I bought the car it already had the wheels.

Its kind of funny that you and Mark wrote something about the car today because it just got loaded on the Thomas Sunday transport this morning.

Thanks guys!

This almost sounds like the car my parents owned for many years. It was a Gold 1969 Electra 225 Convertible with the 430 CID engine. They purchased it from the original owner here in St. Louis and my mother kept it for about 10 years before selling it. It was actually an amazing Survivor with original paint, etc. and was a very nice car! Looking back now, I'm kinda ashamed at myself for not paying more attention to the car or even buying it from her when she sold it. I don't remember what it sold for but I remember it being very reasonable when she got rid of it.
