The “new” New York State plates do look good on the car, but we have a few pairs of 1960's NY plates that we are toying with putting on the car...

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Nice pictures Dave! Are those bars missing the J bolts?

Plowman
07-18-2011, 09:03 AM
If there is a yellow bump,on the bottom of the bar, it takes "J" bolts. Hope that helps Sam. Paul

MosportGreen66
07-18-2011, 12:05 PM
We don't use the J bolts. They do not support the rear as well as the conventional U bolts. Its a personal safety decision.

Plowman
07-18-2011, 11:28 PM
All "U" bolts stay in and the "J" bolts go in the extra holes. I will see if I can get a picture up.

Salvatore
07-19-2011, 04:33 AM
They are from me Paul. He should be able to use the T-bolts with the nuts in the other 2 holes in the front. I thought for sure those bars had those other 2 holes.

As I recall, "Mr. Gasket sold the ones without the "J" bolt holes. Lakewood's had 'em. YTou can simply drill the extra holes otherwise your U-bolts are taking the added torque from the sring-wrap-up when you launch the car-not a good thing!

Not all the Lakewoods had the option for the j-Bolts-only the competition bars did. They came in 2 different versions competition and street.
