Level One Restoration is now restoring the 1969 Hurst/Olds convertible that was for sale awhile back. It is listed as sold on the broker’s web site. I am not sure when it sold, but I am very happy it is going to be restored correctly by one of the best. It will be very exciting seeing it returned to its former glory. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif

It sold in July and the goal is to have it finished for MCACN in November. I am attempting to have the other car at MCACN also.I spoke with the owner of the other one yesterday and I should know in about a week if it can be at the show also. No it's not mine. So anybody seeing Gary at Level One, keep telling him you are looking forward to seeing it FINISHED at MCACN. :-)

I spoke to Gary just last week, and he ASSURED me the car will indeed be done and premiered at MCACN. Whew..as I always say, it just keeps getting better and bettter! We are also working on a very special display of Hurst memorabilia for the show.

I am jealous. That car takes all of the cool factor out of my car. Very special car being done by the right guy. I look forward to seeing it restored.

And just wait till Charley tells you about the OTHER outrageously rare drop-top that is also being restored as we speak, (by one of the MCACN sponsors, I might add) that is ALSO going to be unveiled at MCACN this year...

MCACN is "Going Topless" in a BIG way this year!

AND...as if that isn't enough, the Level One crew is also in the process of re-creating the BIG shifter and platform, as seen at Indy with Linda riding aboard! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/youguysrock.gif

Thank you so much for posting. What a nice profile of the 1969 H/O convertible and Linda Vaughn. It was such a great show and one of the only chances many of us will ever have to see such a historic car. I understand the brothers of “The Collection” which own this 1969 H/O convertible also were owners of four of the 1969 Trans Am convertibles at the event. It was great of them to bring out such classic & historic cars for all to see.

It was also interesting for me to see how many of the under hood pieces on the 1969 H/O convertible were gold plated, along with the painted top and the gold carpeting. The level of detail that Olds and Hurst implemented while making these cars was truly amazing. I spoke with the author of the new Hurst book Mark Fletcher who stated they have now also located the original 1969 H/O prototype with all the exotic spoilers. I hope that we will also see that car restored to its former glory someday soon.

Thanks again for the video & such a great show. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif
