Trying to find out what would be the original tire for my car. Looking at my build sheet box 106 it's says G70x14 2x4 WL FUYR. Below in the options codes it says PK5 G70x14 WL FG. Window sticker says PK5 G70x14 White LTR Fiberglass. So am I correct that it should be the Firetone Wide Oval tire?
Thanks

This is a 10A Pontiac built judge Conv original spare tire.
I've got the build sheet around here somewhere, let me see if I can find it and see what it says.

If you can find the build sheet to verify that would be great! Thank you.

For that date at that production plant you could have gotten any of three tires - Uniroyal Tiger Paw, Polyglas GT or Firestone Wide Oval - either would be correct.

Since Firestone and Goodyear are both options for my car I'm leaning towards the Firestones since that is what was pictured in the 1970 brouchure. Thanks for the help guys!

That and they are not as commonly used as the Goodyears so it is nice to see something a little different once in a while.

Do they make the small letter Firestone wide oval?

----This is only my opinion, but the repro Goodyears are better quality than the repro Firestones! I would have to take the Firestone 200s (good only on 69 Zs, of course) out of that last statement as they seem to be very nice.......Bill S

Your buildsheet code FUYR
could this stand for:
"F"irestone
"U"niroyal
Good"y"ea"r"

The Firestone Sports Car 200's on a friends restored 68 Z with less than 500 miles, maybe 3 years old were splitting on the sidewalls, the car was in a windowless garage and driven sparingly.

I was going to put them on the 69 Z I am doing now until seeing them, had to go with the Good Years.

This was the unused spare out of the trunk of the car with PL in the tire section of the build sheet---
Did the PL stand of P -Polyglas L= letter?

Does anyone have a sheet with BB would that be belted black wall?
OR BW - belted white wall?

My 1970 Chevelle SS came with F70X14 Firestone Wide Oval White Letters.
The buildsheet shows BW BLTD & 2&2-BB-LTR.
I believe those stand for Black Wall Belted Bia Belt Letter.
