My friend Todd is thinking about adding side pipes to his Vega and he can't decide.
I told him to let me post some pictures so the experts can weigh in.

I am no expert by any means but I think I would go without the sidepipes.

That Vega looks fantastic without the side pipes. As much as I, and many others, like V8 Vegas, many people not-in-the-know would wonder why somebody would put loud "outside" pipes on a station wagon. By the way, I love the rear tire size and wheel selection.

I dunno. I kinda like it either way. For the side pipes, I would have to have that Vega sitting a little taller with a stinkbug stance.

and as cool as those Thrush downward pipes are, I would go with the Vette C3 pipes or chrome header style units

My mom had a '69 Corvette with a 427 and sidepipes, but she sold it before I was born. I say go for it!

Those Thrush sidepipes are totally 70's Day Two Coolness and they look good, but for my money, nothing beats the good ol' Hooker Showtubes. Either way, looks cool.

My vote is to keep them off. IMO, the sidepipes are a bit too much for the little Vega Wagon...it makes it too busy and takes away the nice stealth like stance of this car.

what a great car, either way....
Nice lookin car. I feel sidepipes look yucky on just about any car.

I would go with the sidepipes. If he doesn't like them after a little while, he can always take them off.

I am a fan of sidepipes. My brother had a '69 Mustang when I was a kid with a set and I thought it was the coolest thing around. Go for it, if you change your mind later...take 'em off.
1. Sidepipes, yes.
2. You and your friend should be banned for life for showing a picture of a garage that clean!!!! That's just wrong. Now I feel bad about myself.

LOL.
It's cleaner than it looks in the pictures. This is his 32 Ford.

We drove the 32 from east Tennessee to Baltimore for the 1st annual Rodders Journal meet.
8 hours of open pipes and no radio. It was great.

I LOVE sidepipes but on the Vega it looks sweet as you have it without them.
So I would say no on the pipes.
I also agree about the garage!!!!
How do you keep it so clean?? It shines!!!!
LOL
