Anyone here of any motion olds cutlass cars from 1969/70.I recall such a car from back then that used to street race in my area.I am told it is still around.Anyone know about these cars, real or could it be a 442.All I know is a guy recently told me he knows of this car but does not know if it was sent to motion for upgrades or sold by motion.Any info would be appreciated.

I wonder why Markowitz used so many " Ford " terms......" Mach 1 " " The Boss "

They didn't, I did when I put together the program. It was short lived as we found the Olds dealer selling cars that never came through Motion and we killed it!

Marty, I remember reading that in the book. The dealer was using MOTION'S name to market the cars but they weren't Motion cars.Weren't the people that bought the cars bringing them to Joel to fix and that was how he figured out that the Olds dealer was doing that?

I thought this was a nice write up on John Beltz. He really was the man responsible for all the Oldsmobiles’ we have grown to love and appreciate today. Sadly his life was cut very short because of cancer…if he had lived General Motors might have had a brighter future. The decline in quality, styling, innovation, and leadership may have remained if both varying styles of executive leadership such as John DeLorean and John Beltz were allowed to guide the corporation instead of young Harvard MBAs with no love, passion or knowledge of automobiles.

Might have been a 68 olds maybe 69 gold in color w-30 car.My area is Ct.The guy I just called tells me he remembers the car and what he tells me he raced him with his 68 super bee and the owner told him it was a motion car.Now he does not know if it was set up by motion or sold by motion that's all he can tell me but all this time he claims the owner had no reason to bs him in those days.I known he ran the car at connecticut dragway so if I track it down I will try to get the real story.

Possibly this could be the car. It was raced and I believe also registered for street use. Gold & White Hurst Olds was prepared at Motion Performance, I do not believe it was part of the Motion Olds program. If photo doesn't load,it is in my Motion book, http://www.amazon.com/Motion-Performance-Tales-Muscle-Builder/dp/0760335389
