I have a friend who is interested in this '70 GTO. Does the trim tag and the stamp on the block look real? Any opinions on the value of this car? He's asking $55k but that seems like a lot for the car.

Thanks in advance, Kurt

----Trim tag looks OK, but cant quite see the stamp clearly enough to tell. But,,,Even if correct thats a ton of money for that Goat. Personally, I dont see the value at all. This level of GTO would bring about $30,000 max on Fleabay!,,,IMHO!......Bill S

That is way high, at least 2x the value of the car. You could get a very nice stock one in a more desirable color for something in the 20's.

Here's an example of a decent blue on blue one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pontiac-G...=item2c6c225a4d (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pontiac-GTO-1970-PONTIAC-GTO-455-HO-s-MATCHING-FRAME-OFF-RESTORATION-VERY-RARE-CAR-/190792751693?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2c6c225a4d )

And a nice silver/red one that sold for 25K http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pontiac-G...=item51a751da51 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pontiac-GTO-na-1970-Pontiac-GTO-455-4-speed-PHS-doc-1-1700-/350699510353?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item51a751da51 )

Thanks guys.....I sent him this thread and between his gut feeling and your responses, he's going to pass on the car.

Funny, I owned that cars twin in 1976, same color, same A/C, same interior, Same transmission, 12 bolt and burnouts beyond belief with that big 455...hated the color combo, painted it black. Traded it for a Vette, next kid rolled it...:(

I don't know the particulars on this car, but i know a guy that is selling his running driving 1970 GTO 455/4 speed project for $12,500.

Mid 20's on a car like that. Just priced way out of the market.
