Is that an old Maskin-Kanners ride. There weren't many of them and I always rooted for the "underdog". That car looks GREAT! Those AMC guys deserve a WHOLE lot of respect in my book. Not many colleagues to share "secrets" with.
I'll never forget (absolutely not an attempt at hijacking, just another AMC memory) an unbelievably clean AMX called "Wild Child" that was owned by the Golliday (think that spelling is correct)brothers that raced a lot at York, PA. Anyway, the driver was always dressed like he was going to happy hour at a night club, would get in the car, do a dry hop, and then send it skyward and run either right on the record or set a new one. The car (as far as I know) is still around, but I don't think it competes anymore. Always one of my favorites.

I think the AMX is still around. Don't think Maskin and Kanners or Booth ran that year Hornet. Don't remember seeing a front grill like that on any of their Hornets.

The Booth Hornet hatchback was first introduced for the 1973 season and because of the shoestring budget they got from AMC, used the same car but just kept updating the sheetmetal. So Booth Arons used the Concord front end.http://images.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads//2010/01/amcdragracinghistory_resized1.jpg

I believe by this point in time they were not very competitive as the "cut and paste" cylinder heads they were using were outlawed by the NHRA.

There's a few good still shots on this YouTube link below.
Note the grille and nose style progression also it looks like there was at least two cars.
