First post here. I bought this 74 nova last year in hopes to build it the way it would have been in the 70s. Here is where I am at with it currently.

Don't pay attention to the the different plates, some of these pics were taken a few months apart.

I have a few more bits I have saved and plan to do to it this winter, so I guess this can be sort of a build thread for me.

Thanks, guys. Hopefully I'll have some good underhood pictures soon. Right now there is nothing to right home about. Boring pitted chrome no-name valve covers and a dirty gm intake. I've been hunting for a good set of gold moroso valve covers and a spreadbore offenhauser 360 intake to brighten things up a bit. i'll probably dump the edelbog carb in favor of a q-jet while i am at it.

Looks like it has AC? Have you got a picture under the hood? Passenger side showing all the AC equipment?

Thanks -- The TAZ

The ac stuff was removed before I bought it. There is a heater plate there now. The guy I bought it off of gave me the busted up AC box, but it didn't look rebuildable and there was no compressor anymore so I ended up junking the stuff. If I have the desire to go original later on, I will track down some pieces that are in better condition than mine were.

Bill -- what I am interested in is where the AC electrical/vacuum harness was run through the firewall. I have pieces/parts from a 79' (had about a 3 inch rubber plug) and want to know where the wires, etc were on your 74'.

Have you pics of the "spot" on the firewall?

Thanks

TAZ

I'll take a pic of what It looks like now when I'm in the garage later today. It was a heater cover on it now, so I'm not sure if it will help you out or not.

Here is a pic of where the ac box would go. Not sure if this helps you or not.

very nice car! keep it simple and you will be way ahead of the game. 73 and 74 novas are way underrated in performance and looks!

Thanks for posting the pic -- can't really see where the AC harness was routed through the Firewall ... I'll keep looking.

Again thanks!

The A/C harness is that rubber plug right next to the end of the heater box on the firewall.

Not too much of an update. I finally got around to hooking the tach up. Vintage Stewart Warner piece. I bought the monitor off a member here. Now I need to install the matching amp,oil pressure, and temp gauges. Oh, and here's the car next to my dad's 52 chevy bus/camper conversion.
