Seems like a cool project for the money. Seller blowing a lot of smoke with the old standby Vietnam story and throwing the grump in there too.

He left out Elvis, and the car's cameo roles in American Graffiti and Two Lane Blacktop. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif

Is that one of those Kendig carbs? The old Dyno Don set-up?

Yep, sure looks like it or maybe a later built Predator?
Extra smoke in the description aside, it's a very cool car also seems a fair deal for the dough!
Can't help but wonder what stampings may be on the mentioned "real '66 L78 engine"?

Talked to him, he had the reserve set at a low 35,000.00 and told me the car would fetch over 100,000. at Mecum. I didn't say a word left it there.

I ran across a black 67 L78 this summer. 2nd owner, IIRC. He also had unrealistic $ expectations - everyone watches Mecum and B-J......

Apples and Oranges, that car that sold for 40+ was a LOADED UP, Options, Original Owner, paper work, original drive line and the list goes on. this is a no options no paper work no drive train,(Original)and missing carb dist. radiator fan shroud that's and that list goes on. big difference.
