I met his brother Vince Butera, who was a tech at NicKey Chevrolet and also worked on the conversion cars. He has so many cool stories. One was of a '69 427 Camaro conversion with a TH400. His test drive upon completion was taking it to the hospital to pick up mom and his new born son, dropped them off at home and went back to work with the 427/TH400 NicKey Camaro.

But, yes that letter puts a smile on all the NicKey crews faces : )

The pic of Corvette Hall of famer, Jim Jeffords in the NicKey Scarab along with the Championship winning Purple People Eater Corvette (Engine by Bill Thomas) in the background.......for the guys who don't follow road racing.

And then there was WLS with the ad campaign -- "Nickey, Nickey, Nickey; Nickey Chevrolet ... spelled with a backwards K"

Good old Uncle Lar and Snout Nosed Tommie ...

Love the painted door on the rear of the enclosed trailer. The side of the trailer always reads Nickey, open & closed!

Stefano, that letter is truly amazing. The pictures are also. I grew up in Chicago about five miles from Nickey and the smoke stack was something I saw often.

Late to the party here, but wow, what a cool letter to have received. Have to agree with Charley, outstanding use of Nickey stickers <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif My thanks to Mr. Butera for sharing and for his service to our Country <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/worship.gif And of course I recognize his wife's name for all her years on Channel 7 news.

Thanks for posting, Stefano <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif
