I'm happy to report that on the second (and final of the night) run my Nostalgia Stocker ran 11.83 at 113 and change. This was a Wednesday night test-n-tune at Cecil County. We had a conservative "tune" and launched at 5000 rpm and shifted at 6000 rpm. There is plenty left in the car as we built it to run "easy" 11.60s due to the NHRA rollbar rule. The car is powered by a 350 Olds and Jerico 4 speed. I'm planning to run a select few Nostalgia events this year and will also have the car at the York Reunion in July.

Dave:

What a great car and what a great run.

Just to show what a dumb a$$ I can be, and how little I have spent in organized drag racing: I looked at the title to this thread, and for an instant, thought F/S meant "for sale".

Anyway, I am jealous. Always been a fan of the W machines.

That is a number to be proud of! That is just how I like to leave. Can't wait for the video.

By the way, what are you doing to control wheel hop?

The video is a little amateurish at best. I posted it on YouTube (Dave Siltman Test-n-Tune) and had a VERY hard time getting it there. To say I am technologically challenged would be an understatement to say the least. What IS there is not edited and is upside down....not my best work! My good friend and mentor, Wayne Shipley is driving as he is familiar with the new transmission and clutch; he had that exact combination in a car he sold to Sam Murray that is a current NHRA National Record Holder. As for wheel hop, the car has old school suspension (new components) and works great. 6 cyl. front springs, 90/10 shocks, worked front bushings, rear has stock springs, 50/50 shocks, air bags in springs. I have tubular rear control arms with adjustable uppers that are set to stock type settings and an original rear sway bar. I changed some driveline items to soften the launch....went with an aluminum flywheel and McLeod SoftLok clutch with adjustable pressure plate.
This was the first time out with this combo. First run was on new M&H 7" slicks which didn't hook at all leaving at 4500. We installed my old (like 4-5 years old) M&H 9" slicks and left at 5000, shifted at 6000 and went the 11.83. I'm planning to order a new pair of 9" M/T "stick" type slicks and give those a try along with some changes in launch and shift RPMs.
This suspension set-up is pretty basic, but works for me and this car. I'd REALLY like to tinker with it and get it to work on the 7" tires, but for now, I just need to get some seat time and have some fun.
