I received the legal title when I bought the car three months ago, but now my ownership is truly official...

I was expecting to receive only the paper certificate, but much to my surprise, it arrived as you see it, frame and all. Not exactly inexpensive to ship a wooden picture frame <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/shocked.gif Thanks Dan <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/worship.gif

Very nice car. I really like these cars without all the chrome just adds to their character.

Question for you Chevy folks:

What do you think is rarer with the SS package:

300 Deluxe coupe or hardtop?

I see coupes on occasion, like here, but hardtops I never see. Of course, the coupe is easier to identify, as any hardtop could be assumed to be a Malibu, but I figure you guys keep track of these things better than I do.

First of all.....THE 300 Deluxe base models (NONE POST) to not confuse everyone..... are out there.....but they are all mostly camouflaged as an SS.

Second, Chevrolet Made more Hardtops than the Coupes ( 2 door Post Sedan).

They are both rare as a true SS396.....the Post Sedan SS396 being 400 units less.

Dan, your post is totally confusing. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif

It's my understanding that the SS 396 package was available on 4 models:

- 300 Deluxe coupe
- 300 Deluxe hardtop
- Malibu hardtop
- Malibu convertible

Just because the 300 Deluxe coupe may be the rarest based on total production doesn't mean it is the rarest SS 396. I've understood that numbers don't exist for models and bodystyles with the SS package, so where is this 400 number coming from?

Correct - These are all Guesstimated Numbers.

1400 - 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan Chevelles were produced.

1800 - 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Hardtop Chevelles were produced.

Don't forget the El Camino SS396:-)

At our L89 Display last year we had four of five models represented.......(We couldn't get a 300 Deluxe SS396 L89 Hardtop Chevelle to attend) but two owners of real L89 300 Deluxe Hardtop Chevelles did attend:-)
