I have been looking at a 1969 L78 Chevelle SS convertible 4 speed car. Car is not in USA. Car seems legit but I have a hard time verifying how many of these were made/if it is legit. It seems to be numbers correct as far as drivetrain.

It seems like it came here in the 70's and was restored in the 80's.

Does anyone out here keep track on the VINS on these? Car is expensive but I cannot background check its originality like I do on my Pontiacs.

Any information appreciated.

9163 Chevelle coupes, convertibles & elcaminos were equipped with the iron headed L-78 engine block during 1969 production. That's as close as anyone, including Chevrolet or Fisher Body can tell you today.
You can post photos of it on here as well.
Canada never assembled any L-78's,but if it was exported to you via Canada, check with George Zapora to help document it's authenticity..

You need to have it inspected by an expert. Their are several extremely knowledgeable guys on this site. My friend Dan Vasic "Postsedan" is a 1969 Chevelle Guru and for some reason he loves to help people? :-)

An L78 Convertible has so much potential to be a clone!!!

Just a silly question.....was it imported to Canada and sold here? If so you are 140 dollars away from documentation:-)
