That is sooo true!!!! I had one survivor & 9 #1 restored cars in my building. Visitors walked right past the restored cars like they didn't exist - headed directly to the survivor. I love to look at survivors, but I prefer restored cars in my collection - JMHO.

Saw a preview pic of the blue Daytona on Instagram... awesome!

Matt, your pic reminds me of this series. I didn't take a shot of the people but same applied.

I have restored cars because they were a cool combo but needed to be done....and that's fine......but I'll take a great survivor any day.....because somehow - they survived. And they are great references for helping others get their cars "right".

They are few & far between and stand out among restored cars.As well as teach us all.
I see them as a nice way to cleanse the pallet,as you walk among a room full of restored cars, which there are far more of today.
Everyone has different preferences, but over the long run till I die,I'd personally take owning & driving a restored car for it's durability/reliability to enjoy more.

Well said Rick. "...cleanse the pallet,..." I envision the "cleansing" of the pallet with mud, dust, cob webs, etc.! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

Cool huh? I love finding that kind of stuff....and sharing for the hobby. It's like an archaeological dig!

As far as driving a restored over a good survivor......I generally find that the survivors drive a little better for some reason.....maybe it's because the factory assembled stuff has been bolted to each other for all these years resulting in a zen-like harmony thing......or maybe not - lol!

I think I'm bringing one of these to MCACN for Vintage certification...

Wast the winged car on the left in a fire?

Winged car on the left was a supposed ex NASCAR. Was on eBay this past year.

Tough to believe w/ stock gas filler also no rear window plug, any wing mounts in the trunk or anything left of an XX Vin?
Note the rear quarter holes look right for a '68 marker lamps too...small town stocker built from a regular '68 Charger?

That's my impression ....lack of NASCAR Cage kinda gives it away too.....

Its worth more as a relic I'm sure.. .unless he wants a $100,000 car at the end after spending $200,000 + the car

For anyone who would like to see that 440+6 Corporate (Petty) Blue Superbird, it will be at MCACN along with an equally cool and even more outrageous 426 Hemi Superbird in our Barn Find/Hidden Gems area!
