I'm tuned into our local Country station @ work/home/cars and I hear this news here on the SYC!
RIP and thanks for the music Merle, hope you're jammin' now w/ Johnny/Bob W/Hank/BuckO/Frizz etc.

That's because this new country or &quot;Rap Country&quot; as I like to call it is NOTHING like the old stuff. This new stuff just don't have the talent the old stuff does!! I grew up listening to Merle. RIP..

Yes completely different than Old Country also rap is harmful to ears and brains.
That said also the filler and fad of new county aside, there's a profusion of great New Country Music lately too which is more like 60's/70's Pop and Rock also somehow currently into a magical era of its own.
Give it a go if you haven't and suffer through what any radioplay choice brings as some New Country Artists are simply oozing w/ talent also embarking on exciting careers of even better music to come!
