Here are some photos of an unrestored Copo Camaro in Eastern Ohio still in the original owners garage. Car was bought new at Heubner Chevrolet in Carrolton, Ohio. His wife was a teacher and drove the car to school in early '70's. License tags on the car are from '76-77. They are still out there hidden away.

When i get the pictures of my COPO done i will have to try to post them. Be advised the car is not the nicest looking one out there but it was an old drag car . The orig. owner says he cant wait to see it.

dale is the original owner. he bought it new at heubner Chevrolet in Carrolton ohio. it is yellow. like said in original post, his wife was a school teacher in Bellaire city schools. this was her daily driver for the first few years of its life. it still has all the original drivetrain in it. never blown up or hot rodded. been parked since the 70's.

Are you referring to the same car mab1969 is in his post?

No....this is another car...it also resides in eastern Ohio. The car that mab is referring to is St. Clairesville/ Bellaire Ohio....those cities are very close to the river. Since Mab mentioned the road that Dale lives on ....it should be an easy find. My guess is the trailers are circling....lol. Remember what happened with the red Copo in the same direction...Van Zannis had trailers showing up.

copo cartel, it sounds like you know where all the copo's are at. lol. do you have any information on the blue yenko Camaro that came from Bellaire / shadyside area. it was sold years ago.

Yes, the blue Yenko that was under the tarp in the side yard, owner in jail and sold for $ 4,400 or so ended up with a buyer in Louisville, KY and then sold to the next owner in IL who restored the car. It was later sold to a collector in Iowa. It was the first Yenko Camaro built in '69 and sold new at Richards Chevrolet in Wheeling WV. I later found that Warren D. had the complete Yenko file on the car, I should not have passed on that car. Funny, I'm also MAB.

Richards Chevrolet became king Richard Chevrolet then king Chevrolet on 16 th street in wheeling and is now robinson Chevrolet near cabelas in wheeling. do you know the name of the collector in iowa. and is warren d the original owner. I will talk to a few old timers in Bellaire to see if they have any info on the car. I was born in 1968, so I was a little to young to remember any thing back then.

I saw the ad for the 69 Yenko for sale in the local freebee newspaper for $6000 and thought it was a clone or a joke..saw the car a week later at the new owners car lot..he wanted $25K

I would make sure you ask the original owner if it's ok to post photos of his car....some original owners are very sensitive and would rather be anonymous....that is from past experiences

Doug, what happened to the rear wheels with the hub-caps in the original photo? I have seen that picture before, looked at it many times, and I just now noticed the rally wheels in front with wheel covers in the back. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif
