The file on your AOL site doesn't have the ".jpg" extension. Change the file name then, here on your message board posting, surround the file name with and to make it appear in your message. Car looks sweet.

That one looks great! Where'd you get the Stinger hood? I don't get a chance to do much actual building (I still seem to collect them though..).
I frequent these sites also:
http://www.modelcarkits.com/cgi-bin/webbbs/board.cgi
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/StraightLineModeler
Both of these boards are great for ideas and info. Keep up the great work.

Nice model. Here is a working link to your Yenko:

I like modeling too, but I do radio controlled Musclecars. It is fun to run these things around in the parking lot at car shows. Here are a couple of links. Sorry about including the Ford but this Boss 429 is a cool model, very fast too.

I don't build models ,but I do collect the diecasts. I just switched to muscle cars from nascar(#3). I have got about 25 or 30 so far. lane is by far the best I've seen.
some of my cars include the restored/unrestored 69 SS 396,a fantom green yenko, and I have preordered the 67 & 68 yenkos from lane.

I kind of stopped building them a few years ago.....after I built a 62 Belair Nascar...Rex White car...I put hundreds worth of photo etched stuff...lug nuts..plugs,complete wiring, carb springs, fuel lines ,aluminum interior, dual shocks, hhod pins,....all the trick period nascar stuff...It was awsum.Showed it at the Nationals a few years back and they didnt even hardly look at it.I was a little behind the times....Jeez these guys are doing motor cut-aways & stuff now ! making pistons ,cams etc ! I gave up...you need a jewelers magnifier to even get close to competing now..Hope my son has patience.Have a couple hundred for him to do when he grows up !

Wow - with all those parts it should have been able to start up and drive. I have seen some of the high end models and can't believe the detail work on them.

Awesome is a pretty good word to describe it!

Really nice job. So, Charley, do you own that model, or does the builder still own it?

That is a nice looking ZL-1. Charley, if you get a chance have Mike Guarise send you some pics of his 67 Nickey that I did for him. I am currently working on a model of his 71 Motion car and the 61 Royal Pontiac Ventura. I wish there was a way for me to post some pictures of some models that I have done recently. I did sell a couple of Yenko Chevelles and Camaros on Ebay this year. I will be taking a few of my Camaro models to Superfest in Michigan in a couple of weeks for display.

68L30 - I bought three of those Grumpy's Toy cars and you are right, it has to be the best 1/18th scale car out there. I wonder how the Nickey car looks?

Models aren't just for kids anymore. At least little kids.......RatPack........

I recently bought 3 of the latest Lanes: 67 Grumpy's Toy and the two teal 67 Nickeys (Street and Race). The Nickeys are the same quality as all of Lane's other cars from the Exact Detail series.

Hot tip: Lane sells only half of the cars built. "Little Detroit Collectibles" has the other half. So, if you can't get it from Lane, check out http://www.littledetroitcars.com .

That car was the one that was at Barrett Jackson this past Jan. The car did not have any paperwork as I remember it.

Actually it has documentation. I've followed this car for a long time since it was first found by Gene Schmidt. Gene found it many years ago with all the Nickey emblems and accessories etc. Gene is more well known for his Yenko's. I later tried to buy this Nickey after it went to Joe Lukason. This was about 5 or 6 years ago before Joe had it restored but he decided to keep it. Anyway it has the NICB report which shows it came new from GM to Nickey. It was inspected by Nickey's Don Swiatek who was in charge of building the Nickey's and he remembered this particular car and has verified it. Also Dave Delgado (Spelling?) who was one of the Nickey mechanics that built it has also verified it from looking at locations on the car where they did the Nickey modifications. I wish it was mine.

Hey Rat_Pack, do you have some decent pics of Mike G's '71 Motion? I want to build a kit and would love those pics for reference. Feel free to e-mail me.
Thanks,

Mark, not a problem, I will get them to you by the morning. To make a replica of that car you need to convert it to a straight bumper car instead of the RS that the current kit is depicted as.....RatPack......

Kevin,
Thank you for the info. When I attended the auction in Jan. I was told that the car was without documents. I have been interested in "Nickey" cars for a few years now, there is a gentleman from Ct. who actually races his '67 Nickey Camaro at the track that I announce at here in NJ. The car is "Deepwater"? or "Marina"? blue with a white top (non-RS). The Camaro was in a special Camaro edition of Super Chevy a few years ago. Does the gentleman with the Nickey info entertain calls? If he does could you send me info so that I might ask him a few questions? (732)-747-0066. Thanks for the info again.

Andrew
P.S. Dan Blocker's (of Bonanza fame) 1965 Z-16 Chevelle SS 396 might have been delivered thru Nickey Chevrolet. I was talking to the current owner and he told me that.

Cool, I've been looking for a reason to get one of Matt Conte's standard front conversions for that kit.

Andrew,
I just returned from Bloomington Gold Corvette Show, which is reason for late response here. Anyway, I don't have the contact info for Nickey's Don Swiatek or Dave Delgado. If I ever own a Nickey some day, I will try to find them as well. Kevin.

I wanted to thank all of you who have written to me with very positive feedback on my models, I am humbled! I also want to thank those of you who are preserving the musclecars out there, we need them to remind us of those glory days...
I also found out some of you build models and I got to see some really nice work on some webpages.
And for those of you who think I'm "sick" for doing all that detail work (LOL) just remember, who here has paid over $100K for a used car!!!! LOL
Just kidding folks, and thanks again!
Russ
ps- website has a ton of updates! thanks to my pal Andy Connette!
