The origional story of how he owned 2 Yenko Camaro's in 3 days was the best. Bill also promised that next year he would put on a show at the dragstrip. Neat Car!!!!!!!

I would never believe it if I did not see/hear it myself. He buys a Hugger Orange Yenko Camaro. Blows engine in a street race on second day of ownership. Trades it back for a new Daytona Yellow Yenko Camaro and $150.00. Keeps the DY car for 32 years with original paint. Goes to SCR4, tells the story to the Yenko Nuts including the vin of his first Hugger Orange Yenko, They look it up. His first car is at the reunion also still with its original paint! He had two new Yenkos in three days and they reunite 32 years later both with original paint. http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/shocked.gif

Marlin,
I agree, that was incredible! If anyone has anything negative to say, keep it to yourself.

In Bill's own words (re hugger orange car):

"I went to break it in and I done broke it."

Who would have thought 4 original paint Yenko Camaros, 2 yellow and 2 orange!!

Bill Hunter; 'A rod come out the side of the block, so we towed it back to the dealership that night and left it there. The next day we went back, and this yellow one had just come in on the hauler...'

What a cool story, and then to have Mick Price bring that very same orange car to the show was super!

Whitetop; I know you gotta like this car, 'old school' traction bars, shifter, tach, ect...!!

I asked Bill if the dealer gave him any trouble about honoring the warrantee. He said they told him they will pull the heads and look at the tops of the pistons. If they see any marks in the tops of the pistons of the seven good cylinders they will not honor the warrantee. They said the marks would mean he over revved the motor and the valves hit the pistons. The dealer is not responsible for that but after disassembly they concluded it was a defective rod bolt. The original owner of the Garnet red Yenko Chevelle, who was at the show with his car, was not so lucky. He blew his up under waretee and Francis Chevy refused to fix it. He had to pay $109.00 a month for a Yenko Chevelle with a blown motor.

Marlin,thats a great story!
Did Bill Hunter or Mick Price have any clue to any of this before the Reunion?
They must have been the ones most surprised by the turn of events that took place at the show.

For those who attended the reunion, the best surprise there was Bill Hunter's orig. paint, orig. owner, orig. 'story', orig. paperwork, Daytona Yellow Yenko Camaro. Don't give me this 'oh it's a little dirty' crap, that car rocks - even 'whitetop' would stop climbing over Yenkos to check this one out!!! Somebody post a pic, mine aren't ready yet.

I don't think either guy knew about the other, much less that they would show up at the same place with their cars! It was cool to see Hunter pull out two original bills of sale for two different cars, then walk over to Price's car to compare VIN #'s. It was interesting to hear Hunter talk about the hole in the side of the orange car's block after he was done 'breaking it in'.

Did Mick get the paperwork pertaining to his Orange car from Bill then?

mr70; If Mick broke down and asked him nicely, I'm sure Hunter would have given him a copy or the real thing. Hunter let a few guys take his paperwork to the local copy center to make color copies.

That's good that the paperwork is with the orange car now.

I was told that the orange car had it's original drivetrain - looks like Hunter put a 'hole' in that story, literally!!
