I have talked to Jerry on two seperate occasions. The first time I asked him what documentation he had, he hung up on me! The second time I called, I couldn't get off of the phone with him. I got the same story you just told. My beleif is that a current owner with a "supposed" motion car that won't fork over the fee, does not have a real car. Not to mention it is not the right year for that particular car.

Found this interesting lil beauty for sale:

(hope the link works)

</A> I just spoke with the fellow who is selling the car. very very nice guy names Jerry. He and his partners do collectable auto sales for fun basically.

He siad the car was originally blue and that it is an original Baldwin Motion car (no documentation) It is an RS/SS car. It was repainted white and the stickers form the 1967 Baldwin Motion drag car were subsequently added.

Jerry told me that a fellow by the name of Tony Passadaqua (spelling may be way off) ,who was an engineer for Baldwin, looked at the car and said it is indeed a real car. Joel Rosen apparently called and said he never painted a car to look like that, which would be correct because the story is that the car came from Motion as a blue car.

OH...and the price was in Hemmings at $29,500 and Jerry agreed to honor that price.

The car had been a California car it's whole life, Palm Dessert California.

OK... who can shed some light on this one??? Anyone willing to fork over $2500 bucks to Joel Rosen to get the truth of it's origin? Maybe we all pitch in $100 and get the info!!!!!!

My guess is this is a bogus car as well. If the seller truly believed it to be legit, he would gladly pay Joel the $1,500 verification fee and then sell the car for over six figures. This car has been for sale for quite a while.
