Wow, Looks like you struck a raw nerve Kevin! I think some ZL1s will start demanding this type of money. If it has the original drivetrain, good paperwork and the right color. Also, we need people like Kevin that has some "new money" to keep the interest high in this hobby. I don't think there is a lot of speculation going on right now, the hobby is in a state of flux and prices are just heading up! I guess that is the nature of the beast! I know if I had a lot of money, I would be buying every ZL1 and Yenko I could get my hands on!!!! (my opinion)

Rich needs to take it down a notch. He should be pissed off at his fellow auto dealers. Those are the people who sell cars at outrageous prices just so they can try to make big comissions. Then you have the others who try to sell phony cars that claim to be original and untouched. If I am going to pay $200K for a car, then the dealer selling it better have every piece of documentation on the car from start to present. I'm talking about from the time it rolled off the assembly line to all previous owner's name with contact info to verify the car's authenticity.

I love these cars for the hobby BUT when you try to get that kind of money it takes the FUN out of it I for one can not afford that kind of money This is why we have all the clones today and it WILL get worse because its not about the hobby or the love of the car its about the money always the MONEY and It makes me sick to see what is happening to the hobby I guess I will never have a real ZL1 so if I want one I will have to build one myself and for a lot less money and I will have fun with it. I will know its a clone but what happens years from now I could sell it and a few owners later it is said to be real deal and why because the real ones are asking for BIG money

Don't blame the broker for high prices. There's no sale unless the buyer agrees to the high price.

I can see someone paying 800K for a Duesenburg but for a Hemi convertible??? Get real man. I guess the stock options the secretaries took at Microsoft actually paid off. It's pathetic people are into the hobby just to make a quick sale. It is people like that who kill the hobby altogether.

Get real ?? 71 Hemi Cuda convertible (9 total built)I think if someone offered you close to a mill for your car !! Get real you would sell. 71 Hemi Cuda convertible will be the million dollar car in a year. Lets see where the ZL1 and other rare muscle cars will go, not down unless the world comes to a holt. And if thats the case sell sell sell
When a 340 AAR & TA bring close to 60-70 thou
on the block at auction. Please dont blame me !!!

Like Unreal said , Why is it wrong when a
Supercar sells for big $$$$. It's the buyer who is paying the all the money. It just makes all other Supercars go up in value. I heard of a HIGH DOLLAR Supercar recently selling for 200k with the wrong motor. People need to be educated. I feel these people just want these cars for the braging rights. I bet if you asked any of these BIG Collectors about part numbers, dates and codes they would have no idea.
On another note:
Not against anyone person on this board. But I had made a comment about a certain member on this board and my post was PULLED. Maybe it is GOOD to vent once and a while.Sorry if i was rambling on. "MOF"

I would really like this thread to take a turn for the better, or else it's gonna be history.

brokers don't set prices, buyers do. who cares what the broker makes? the post was not to bash brokers for handling transactions, but, it seems the seller would advertise and set the price, not the broker. post was not personal, why defend if you do broker, whats there to be upset about?

didn't know who it was selling the car until i went back and reread the ad on hemmings online. i guess it created some fireworks, regrets to whomever i offended. i didn't think it deserved the trash talk. these cars are hot and are demanding some big bucks. it just appeared that in the ad it was not the owner selling the car, sorry ____, didn't know it was you! i didn't mean to create a negative thread. i love these cars and the hobby, lets keep it clean. tom, i'm like you i'd like to have them all the stock market hasn't been to nice lately.

if you are in it for the money, you can't enjoy the cars. i agree some are taking this to extreme. we all may make a profit from time to time, but, most of the time the cars aren't for sale and we want them more than the seller does so we pay up or sell. i started out with some cheaper cars and quickly fell in love with some nice stuff, after all is said and done with time and effort i'd be lucky to break even, who cares? i am a car nut (collector) don't want to be a broker, don't need the $, just need the cars from their owners.

thanks for cleaning this up guys, this thread was never meant to take a negative or personal turn. come to find out it was my old car for sale and didn't even know it. it is a very nice zl1. any questions feel free to call or email. don't know how this got personal, let's keep the fun in the hobby! the more documentation and information on matching numbers dates and codes with a clean history make a car what is worth and it doesn't hurt to be rare and desirable!
