Interesting the window sticker is not legible, nor does the seller ever state anything about the car being sold new @ Nickey w/the LS-6 spec engine. The ad merely says its a low mile vette sold new at Nickey and currently has a 454-450 hp engine.

Hi, everyone, here's the layout on the car. We all agree, a 454 wasn't availible in 1975, 1974 was the last year. What they have told me, is that Nickey Chevrolet built and installed this 454 in it. The window sticker is broken down as follow:

A31 Power Windows
C07 Auxiliary Hardtop
C60 Four-season Air Conditioning
FE7 Gymkhana Suspenion
J50 Power Brakes
L48 350-4 BBL V-8 Engine
N37 Tilt-Telescopic Steering Wheel
N41 Power Steering
QRZ GR70-15/B STL Belted Radial W/L
UA1 Heavy Duty Battery
U69 AM/FM Radio
19R Folding Convertible Top Black
192 LBB2 Black Custom Interior
75L Mille Miglia Red

They're trying to get the original owner to reply to there Phone calls. Hope this helps, and I guess it would be like any other NICKEY, your call. http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

FYI, the window sticker does NOT show Nickey as the dealer. Could have been a dealer trade according to the seller. For what it's worth.

There were however LS7 crate engines available at the time and that is what I was told the Corvette had in it. It was run at one of the Mecum auctions, in Illinois sometime last year and there was a stack of paperwork in a folder, which I did not take the time to look over.

The owner/Collector at the time was from Denver???

Is this the same Vette that was in The Gold Standard program from Bloomington Gold a couple of years ago in the auction section?

I recently bought the car I think is being referred to here. 1975 Corvette convertible w/ crate 454/460 Miglia Red, believed to be a Nickey car. Will be trying to verify that soon. It did not originally come from Nickey but supposedly was taken there for engine install shortly after purchase. I do have the stack of paperwork mentioned, including the original window sticker. Car now has 10k miles on it. Had to have the a/c charged and it's nice and cold now. Car runs and looks great. I think I'm going to enjoy this one.

----Its my understanding that Nickey Chevrolet closed its doors (as Nickey) in 1973. If so it would have been hard for a 1975 Corvette to have had a Nickey engine transplant in 1975. The car does, however, sound like a lot of fun.....Bill S

Nickey Chevrolet became Keystone Chevrolet at the begining of 1974.

The Nickey Chicago speed shop and Super Car builder continued to build and market "Nickey" Cars until they closed for business in 1977.
