I know someone here can answer this for me. Back in the early-mid 80s when I was in my mid teens I vaguely remember looking at a book in one of the mall chain book stores that had an in-depth article about an early 70s 454 Motion Vega. I saw it a couple times back then and I remember the title of the article was "King Kong Lives On Long Island". I've searched off and on for this thing for the past 10 years and I still haven't seen it. I have a MASSIVE collection of car magazines and books but I do not have this one... Does anyone possess a copy of this book/article?? If so could you scan it and post it or at least tell me what book or magazine it's in? Just would like to see that one again and hopefully add it to my collection. Thanks, Ed

I don't remember that article but do have other articles on the 454 Motion Vega. In 73-74 Motion was advertising a wild 9 sec street Vega. This had to be one of the quickest cars ever sold to the public. No wonder the Government tried to shut him down in 74.

Is there any Motion Vette articles in your collection? I live in Tulsa and would love to find more info on these cars that I have in storage for the last 20 years. I have little on them.

Pantera, I sent you a message with some info. You need to click on your "message flag" that is at the left side of the header "main index" above.

Pantera, Welcome to the site. I have some of the Cars magazine articles on the Motion Corvettes. What color are yours? There were only about 10 built by Motion and a few of them were featured in the old Magazines. There was also a two part article on Motion Corvettes in Vette magazine recently written by Martin S. who wrote the original articles.

I probably have every magazine article about the 454 Motion Vegas. I bought a new Vega in 73 and never finished my small block conversion. About 7 years ago I bought all of the parts from Joel to install a 454. I asked Joel if he would do the conversion on my 13 original mile Vega which would never be licensed or street driven. I knew of his problems with the Feds. He was willing to sell me all the parts but didn't care to work on my car. I have tons of Vega articles if anyone needs info.

It will take me a week or two to get all the old mags out and copied. Will get them out to you though.

Well Ditmars is still looking for the Mini Brute and still wants to buy Lil Screamer. We have the frame on the chassis jig and all the up-dates cut off. We are getting ready to weld Model A rails on the front half just like Ditmars originally built the car. I saw your name in some of the posts and was wondering if that was you. How ya been? Mike

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif Cool is a good word. But I think Awesome is the word that describes the feeling.
http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gifI had a '71 Vega with a 327/11:1/off road z cam/2.02 fuelly heads(the real ones)/
tunnel ram w/(2)660's/T10 box/v-gate shifter/4.88 12 bolt/N50-15's on Crager s/s rims.
That was probably the most fun I ever had in a car. Drove everyday - everywhere w/o a problem. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif
