Is the license plate a "Baldwin Motion" DEALER plate?

I think jeff is just having fun with everyone now, I would guess we have already picked out the oddities, he may just be sitting back now enjoying the show to see what we come up with. If so, good one Jeff!

The plate has NY to the left and DEALER in the middle now whose dealer I do not know . I found the pic in the July 69 issue of CARS which on the cover has a Yellow Camaro on it

Jeff,
Should we tell them yet? I left a PM for him already last night and he said I couldn't tell those who haven't guessed it yet. I was right on my PM and I'm a NOVA guy. Come on you Camaro guys! I'll let Jeff tell you who is right.

There's another picture of that car in the book by Martyn Schorr. It appears to be a Baldwin Motion Z28. It does have a rear spoiler and the wheels look to be Ansen slots or possibly Halibrands(hard to see a good angle in the picture). It also appears to have a 3 spoke(wood or sport) steering wheel.

I was right wasnt I? Ron nailed the hood tach, I got the emblem, everything since then has been you just seeing what everyone would come up with. You know, there was a license plate on here not long ago that said "test". I stared at that for 2 days trying to find what was wrong with it before I realized it was a test at posting an attachment! Two days twisting my brain! So this camaro was another little brain teaser, wouldnt have been too much longer and we all would have had our magnifying glasses out looking for something that wasnt there, if some of us didnt already!

Jeff H thought you might like to kow the pic above the one I posted dealing with the Z shows a GM Crossramed 302 but the article never says if it was the engine in the car pictured.

Pretty sure it is a Motion Z/28 because he used the Pontiac hood tachs, NY dealer plate, and it looks like Joel behind the wheel.

According to the April '69 issue of Hi-Performance Cars. The Original Test car was ordered from Baldwin , but didn't show up. According to the article, that '69 Z28 Camaro was borrowed from Baldwin's Ed Simonin. It was his personal car. It was "chrome yellow accented with broad black stripes accented with flush mounted hood locks". It had a stock 3:70 rear and a 290hp-302. This issue of Hi-Performance has a 5 page spread on the testing of this car with tons of pictures. That 8000 rpm hood tach says Chevrolet on the face too. Love to have one of those!!

P.S. It does have a rear spoiler, it just doesn't show up in that picture. The spoiler has "Baldwin" on the drivers side black stripe. It also has a Grant/PIP real wood steering wheel, Ansen wheels and it is Joel Rosen driving the car.
Later! Bill

Jeff,
I just scanned a page for you to see how it came out. I just emailed it to you. This issue also has a nice 3 page spread on the "Chevy's 427 Mystery Motor" 427 ZL-X all aluminum engine. It was dubbed the Open Chamber Mystery Motor and called a semi-hemi. Lots of pics too. "Motion Performance" Very interesting reading!!

I've same issue of Cars (original owner/unrestored). Also tests Hemi Charger 500, if memory serves. Pretty sure the Z article spoke of factory dealer-installed options and that, in addition to the crossram, the car came w/headers in trunk and had 140 off-road cam installed.

13.30 @ 106 in quarter, as I recall.

Jeff, Over a period of two months I purhased all original CARS, Hi-Performance magazines from 65-70 on Ebay. I paid on average of 2 to 5 bucks per copy. Worth every dollar. That '69 Z is a Motion car that's is reviewed in this Magazine. These magazine have "Motion" cars all over the place. Of course Joel Rosen was a road test consultant to this very popular magazine.

Thought you would like to know.
