Dale Jr. continues to follow in the Legends footsteps by dominating restrictor plate racing at Daytona winning the Bud Shootout! http://www.yenko.net/attachments/32184-badass.gif

I thought Jimmy Johnson was going to make it up to the front with 4 fresh tires. But there was too much traffic to fight his way through. Dale Jr does his best racing at Daytona.

Jimmy Johnson is definately one to reckon with and wouldn't be surprised to see him win the championship this year. Of course I'd like to see Jr. win it.

The Chevrolets looked awefully strong last night. I thought Jr.s night was going to end early when he came into the pits smoking after the first segment. Kurt Busch looked very strong as did Matt Kenseth for the Ford camp. Rudd showed that the Wood Bros. could still have a winning car early on. We'll see what happens today during qualifying.

Junior and Johnson on the front row at 194.00+ ????? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif.............RatPack..................

My above post has a typo, I meant 184+ to get on the pole. How about those DEI and Childress cars! Junior just shattered Michaels qualifing speed and then Jeff Green came along! I can hear the Ford boys crying foul eventhough the bodies are essentially the same this year between all 4 makes. Maybe it proves one thing that has been said all along, the Fords just cannot make the horsepower that a Chevrolet can! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif................RatPack...............

If you think thats cool(and it is), just watch the Super Bikes in the Daytona 200 the week after. Top speeds could exceed 200mph this year. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Oh yea, I can hear the Ford camp crying already. I sure hated to see Jr. get bumped off the pole, but at least he's on the front row. Maybe that DEI horsepower can keep him ahead of the big wreck when it happens. At one time the whole field was 3 wide the other night.

Will they show the bikes on Speedvision?

Stefano,

I was down in Daytona 3 years ago for bike and went to the track everyday, you are right it is AWESOME! During a practice session while I was there Troy Corser blew threw the chicane on the back straight, so he had the throttle pinned from turn 1 back to Start/Finish, and they posted his top speed at 211 and some change!

It is definately an experience on a bike, as a rider or even spectator.

The Draft effect is like nothing else.

Looks like the Chevys have the front 2 rows for the 500. Dale Jr. and Michael Waltrip finish 1-2 again in their 125 today and Robby Gordon wins the other. Can't wait till Sunday, hope it doesn't rain. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

i hope jr. dominates this season,if it wasn't for a failing alternator he could of taken the 500 easily and sweeped speedweeks
