It's only the last bid in the last few seconds that counts, so I prefer to not keep bidding an item up too high along the way; as it only drives the item up more against myself.

But this time I'd like to see Charley get it for his ZL1. My Berger is only a low-life COPO /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif .There has to be other Berger frames out there as well. So no last minute "snipe bid" from me. Good Luck Charley.

Hey guys, we know Charley is going to get these, anybody with a original Berger Supercar that would like a set let me know, it had not dawned on me about these, I have seen three or four sets in the last few months at some of the private less known salvage yards in the country around Grand Rapids, I am going out this week to pick up what I can, should be able to get some Berger emblems also. I will ask a resonable price to those who have a Berger car. Anyone in that catagory who would like a set, contact me or post.
Thanks,
Motown /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Goin huntin this week guys, I dont know why I had not thought of this before, I guess I am just used to seeing them so it has been no big deal. These frames came on all the Berger cars of the period, not just Hot Rods, so many are still out there in the bone yards that dont scrap nothing, and there are many out in the country, heck, I would guess there are two self made combination bone yard and trailer parks per square mile in the small towns surrounding GR. A hunting we will go......

Rick,
The people around here are not dumb. it is not likely that any old ones will be found in the public yards, anything old gets crused here like anywhere else. I just happen to know where a few sets are in private and closed down yards. One old boy in particular has not scrapped a car in 25 years and has 400 acres, closed down to sales and still hauling them in. Could never spend all his money yet insists all the old cars are his retirement. Him and I are friends, so I sort of have my own personal yard, (with a close knit group of friends).

well I have invoices from berger chevrolet for parts, for my 69 camaro so if I don't find a edelbrock chevrolet frame, I would run the berger license frame, but the edelbrock one would be nice. I also have a berger chevrolet "by berger" emblem, I wouldn't mind using it for trading material towards a license frame. Anybody???

No,
He is not doing hard time, more like handing out a hard time, go to the ponysite.com and click in the upper left corner on "latest TA news". From what I hear he has caught the Shelby registry in a large scale cover up.
Thanks,
John

Ckick on latest Ta news in the upper left hand corner. It seems that he uncovered documents proving the alteration of the VIN on several cars, at the end of the top news piece click on the click here link that takes you to an article concerning the 67 prototype which the registry had discounted due to a letter change in the VIN, seems it was a common practice. Also, as we all know, for a manufacturer to race a particular car or engine they have to build a certain required amount for street use. It appears that Fords new hp engine that year was the Tunnel Port 302, race officials ok'd the engine but Ford never put it into production for the street, therefore the entire 1968 Mustang season was illeagal. After winning the previous two years points championship, Ford could not afford that pr blunder. They won the first race(Daytona), and never won a race again that season,(maybe one), they were all DNF, kind of like a boxer throwing a fight so not to draw attention to themselves, whoever took second at Daytona actually won. How this turns out should prove interesting

So here is my frame on my 69.
I am still trying to locate the older cursive style, but I was glad to be able to get this one a while back. I haven't seen another one like it (yet)
If anyone is interested in a trade let me know. thanks

How long has he been looking?Has he had any luck ?

I ran into a guy on the Jalopy journal that has one, but has it in his high performance collection of parts, so he won't part with it. I tried to buy or trade him, and I was hoping he would want it to go to somebody who would run it on their car, but no.

The "by berger " emblems are not to difficult to come across. I got mine off eBay for about $20-30 bucks not to long ago.

If you read this thread it sounds like someone ran across a bunch of the berger license frames? but then where did they all go???

chevyman0429
10-14-2016, 11:55 PM
He's only had the car for around 5 months so he's been looking since he bought it. Lucky for him when he bought his project car the original emblem was wrapped up and stored so he's got them.

BULLITT65

What did he get (other than the emblem) that identified it as a berger car? NCRS report? pop?
just curious
IS it a BB car ?

Yes it is and it's almost finished in around 6 months he has done a complete frame off in his two car attached garage. The cars gonna be stunning. It should have its new coat of paint by the end of the week mount it to the finished rolling chassis and put the interior in and it's done.

I live and work in Grand Rapids, go by Berger almost everyday...
Know of a few bone yards, I pick at, will keep my eyes open for some Berger stuff..
I know I've seen the emblems on some old cars, just can't remember which yard had them..
Like Motown said, guess we're just use to seeing them not a big deal..
