This looks kind of interesting to me. A COPO? This is from Chevy World, 81-82 annual.

I need to get the photo enhancer from the movie "Blade Runner" then you could see the trim tag and if it has a BB heater box. It has multi-leaf rear springs, but I can't tell if they are 4 or 5 leaf. I bet this car is still around unless it crashed. Alot of old race cars either race every week or get stored.

While I do not have the blade runner version, I did enlarge the picture. It looks like the orginal was retouched to hide the numbers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif darn... You should at least have been able to see the fuzzy stamped pattern.

I tracked down the owner of this car through a maze of Michigan gearheads and their memories, I am expecting a call this week. I'll re-post with an update.

Hey Guys, I just got off the phone with Joe Reddy, He may stop in and post. He purchased the car around 1974 and it was a original 327 Camaro. He added the big block and went racing. About 5 years ago he sold the car in race trim and it went to Iowa, as far as he knows it is still there. Not a COPO, but a neat piece of history just the same.

Cool! Thanks for looking him up. If you have to look at a a hundred possible copos before you find that one real one, well then you are one car closer to finding that real one. And it sounds like this was was fun too.

Just signed up and looking through some old posts. Can't believe this is on here. Joe told me car was in a magazine at one time.

Attached photo of car is when the Iowa guy(me) had it. Great car, won SS/DA class twice at Indy with it and set Natl Record with it. Too bad it wasn't a COPO(but I did find one later).

Alex, I have seen some very rare cars in the twenty years at Eddyville. Bill's #1 ZL-1 , 67 yenko, 69 Yenko a Couple Hemi cars. Just to name a few. I don't know if we will make Topeka this year. It was fun when Don's nova had the Nat Record for three years. Good to here from You. Kim http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
