My wife and I had a great time at the reunion! I must admit the drags were a lot of fun to watch, although I still cringe when they miss a gear! The dinner was really nice, we got to sit with Bill Porterfield, Ken Barnhart, and Gary Holub! (talk about some heavy hitters!) Rosen and his group had some interesting stories and gave a lot of insight on Baldwin/Motion. The car show had a lot very nice cars! The unrestored Yenkos were a special treat! My personal favorite was Kevin Hand's silver ZL1, he just had a total resto and the car was beautiful! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Tom,
I have heard that Kevin's ZL-1 is now one of the nicest in existence.

I bet Kevins ZL-1 is one the nicest in exsistence! He started with a great car to begin with, it was just an older resto that needed freshening up(I saw the car about two weeks before Kevin took ownership of it), but I can't say I blame Kevin for the total resto, it is what that car deserved to be a great piece of history for years to come and for a lot of people to see and enjoy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

I can't remember the name of the fellow that did the resto but his "attention to detail" is amazing! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Ricky Smith restored Kevin's ZL-1. He's a super guy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

tom, thanks for the compliment on the car. it was one of many and was very happy with the reception from the guys as well as some restorers. its nice to get feedback both positive as well as constructive criticism as we all know there are varying opinions and each accepted with gratitude! after several conversations with some top notch restorers we know we had the horns on backwards (purposely),a few bolts incorrect, and a few other minor items as we just finished it wednesday and brought it back to do some more items to it. i will get them done this week as well as some other great ideas we got from the guys. with 3 shifts at the factory and many different hands that touch these things not all could be the same. there are quite a few things i chose as a personal thing not to do, overspray, heavy deep spot welds, and a few other items. right or wrong thats the way i like them done. my hat is off to Ricky Smith and the way he laid the paint on that car. Ricky is not new to this as a camaro specialist for well over 25 years. you should see the line of cars at his shop to be done. i've never seen as many ZL1's, yenko novas and camaros at one place in my life. wait till next year! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif
