More info to jog the memory, perhaps! This is a Dusk Blue non-RS car with RPO JL8, first owner was from Rockaway, NJ. Anyone?

I think that is the same car I asked about a while ago. I have the information from the p-o-p as well from the guy who has the p-o-p now. I don't think the car has turned up yet.

Jeff,

I have been meaning to ask you this for a while now. What are Minilite wheels?

Those are the wheels that a lot of the T/A race teams used in the late 60's early 70's including Penske. They were lightweight magnuesium and strong. Here's a pitcure of the new aluminum version that they are making. http://www.minilitewheels.com/Images/minilite-side-2-lg.jpg

Hey Jeff,

Probably the same guy then. I was just inquiring about some parts and he told me the whole story. Would be quite a find from the description he gave me.

Bill, I got my new Minilites from Main Street Motorsports in CT. They are still made by Minilite in England, but they're aluminum now instead of magnesium.

Were those wheels actually an option on the JL-8?

uh, no. They were aftermarket. They do look cool though! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

No, the Minilites were popular for road racing because they were the lightest, strongest wheels.

Jeff, Thanks for the info on the minilites. I have looked for years for a real set and have never found them. It probably doesn't matter because if I did find them (real ones) I would have choked on the price. The repros look nice and I will contact these guys to see about sizes and price

Can you post a link here? Well I guess I will find out. Here's a link (I hope) to the Minilite web site for anyone who has any interest. http://www.minilitewheels.com/

Jeff, did you ever check the VIN on Dr. Kim's car? I thought you said you did.
