Does anyone know ware I could find a pair of Jim Funston License plate frames. From what I understand Funston Chevrolet has been out of business since the early to mid 70's. Any help would be appreciated John Q. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Jim Funston had a Chevrolet Dealership In Detroit Mich.
They also had a Hi-Perf Car sales area across Gratiot Av. 1/2 block away, seperate from the main dealership.
This area was called the "PitStop".It was one of the First Performance car sales centers in the country.
I have a great Color picture of a 1970 SS Chevelle taken on this lot with a picture of salesman Bill Barnwell showing a 1970 Chevelle Champagne Gold SS 396 to a perspective buyer.
I wish I could post Pict.

Just a note,You should have titled this topic,Jim Funston. You might have gotten more hits.

I found a set of dealer frames for my '67 on eBay. Both frames with CA black plates cost me $25. In truth, I was searching for a good set of black plates for my '67 (orig. CA car 1967-86) and stumbled upon the frames. Patience is the key. I know, you either love eBay or hate it, but it worked for me.

Dragging this thread back from the dead.
I recently bought a 63 BelAir that sold new at Funston, and I would like to find a license frame. Or dealer decal to throw on the car.

Funston used a bumper decal for most of the muscle era. I have a Funston diecast emblem, not sure when that would have been used but I assume it's an early piece. As far as I know they never used a license plate frame. Hope this helps.
