Heard a rumor tonight that there is a new Gibb Chevy II COPO owner. Kinda one of those first and last deals, if you get the drift. I'll share more soon. I am excited.

ps. It is has nothing to do with anything you have read about on this site lately. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

I think you meant its a NEW/OLD owner since the new owner had it on their property once before :P

I just talked with Helen for a few minutes this morning. You can hear the smile in her voice. She is one Happy Lady!

And Jeff, I'm pretty sure it's gonna stay Fathom Blue! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Since the first day I met Helen in 1999, she always wished to have had one of the original COPO's from her and Fred's dealership. Her wish has come true. She is now the proud owner of the last Gibb COPO Chevy II made, the #50 car. In my opinion, the one that survived all these years so she could live her dream. She wants to return it to showroom stock condition, it is already almost there, just need to bolt on some factory equipment. What a pair! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

When I first heard Helen now owns this Nova,I thought We should get a Serious Professional Picture of Her behind the wheel of it,Lighting the Rear Tires up.Either at the Reunion/Collinsville Dragstrip this September,or Maybe in the Parking Lot of the Old Fred Gibb Dealership location this coming August.
I think that would make a Great Symbolic Picture for all to Cherish! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Would not be surprised to see Nancy behind the wheel of one of the cars at SCR7, with Helen along side. At SCR6, Nancy wanted to make a pass with the '02 ZL-1, but was afraid to do so, because of the damp track conditions. IMO, seeing a member of the Gibb family racing at SCR7 would be worth the price of admission. A true Kodak monent. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Never did one owner deserve to have particular car as much as in this case.

One funny thing about both her ZL1 and this Nova is that she signed under the hood of them long before she bought them. We are working on putting manifolds and a full exhaust on the car for Helen. It will be neat to see her drive it into a show or two. I think it would be special if we could get together at Fred and Helens old dealership and let her take delivery of it there. Anyone want to come if we do ?? It should be ready for delivery in the next few weeks . . .

Looks like we can quit looking for something special for the show this year. Congratulations to Helen, do you suppose she would take the Mayor for a ride. Keep us in mind Aug 7th. It will be nice to see everyone. Ken http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

It was the best of news to learn of the return of the last built Gibb COPO Nova to LaHarpe. I feel this will be a great issue of historical interest to the many car enthusiast's that are interested in the muscle car hobby? It will be a joy to return in August to the Gibb Memorial knowing this car, and it's new owner, will be the center of attention? Congratulations Helen!!!

IMHO, Ray is one of the few individuals in this hobby who does not need to fill out a profile. If you do not know who he is, just read up on the Fred Gibb/Dick Harrell Chevy II's. Welcome aboard Ray! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
