Thought I would share this with the group and it would make for an interesting topic for discussion. Found this photo and caption of a 1970 Berger "Super" Nova in an old newspaper article from 1970. It appears to be a Super Sport with "350" engine, hood louvers and "SS" wheels, but is lacking the "SS" emblem in the grill. The Berger "add-ons" from what I can see in the photo appear to be the drivers sport mirror, hood pins, the "Super" emblem located above the "Nova" fender emblems and the rear spoiler.

Enjoy!

Although just about impossible to see in that pic... in a clearer version of this same car, it shows that the front fender said "Super Nova"... What's neat about it is that it appears they used the "Super" portion of the "Super Sport" 1/4 panel emblem from a 66/67 Chevy II SS. No idea how many besides this one (if any) were built... I know I've never seen one. I think they make a die cast model of this car now.

California Car Cover Company (www.calcarcover.com) was selling a 1:18 scale die-cast model about a year ago, but I don't know if they're any longer available.

Camarojoe,

Just out of curiousity, have you ever seen any other photo's, advertisements or spec sheets for the Super Nova? I can only assume that with a name like "Super Nova", Berger would've bolted on some performance mod's under the hood also.

Thanks,
Tim

Dennis Barker told me 10, and that they had 300hp 350's None have been found to his knowledge. That's called a go wing. Used on Mach 1s, and some mopars. Schonye

I've got a go wing on my 70 challenger RT/SE 440 4spd. They start to work around 130 mph. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This Nova has the Goodyear Polyglas tires which do not show the tire size and it has side body pinstriping. Very cool car...
