I don't own one but I did take a blue one out twice....ended up not buying because the driving position didn't agree with me...was too little legroom for me...oh and the dealer was a greedy pig...wanted way too much over sticker...but it rode really well, power galore, nicely screwed together.

They are very cool cars. I have had the pleasure of driving the hell out of a few of them! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif I sell em Bud so any questions ask away!

My brother just bought an Azure Blue '04, stick. He loves it ! It's his first real performance oriented car. He put a shorty-throw shifter in it already, but other than that, he's keeping it stock. Neat cars.

PS - He dynoed his last weekend at the Ford Carlisle meet, and the thing made 281HP at the rear wheels. Seemed pretty respectable to me. I think that they are rated at about 315 at the flywheel.

Of course now he thinks he'll be able to whip up on my Olds ...... YEAH RIGHT - - In his DREAMS !! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

A Pontiac buddy of mine in Texas bought a new 2003 Mach 1. He's a racer at heart, and definately knows how to shift (he also has an 11 second street driven Firebird). He bolted on a set of Nitto drag radials onto his new Mach 1, and hit a 12.99 @ 106.2 mph in some good air. At first I thought it wasn't that big a deal, because Z06's and Vipers are quicker, plus he had to do it on drag radials. But when you sit back and realize that for around $25K, the guy has a brand new, warrantied car, that's a solid low 13 second daily driver. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Cheaper than a new GTO, and in my opinion, the Mach 1 really looks like a modern day Musclecar. Gotta love that shaker scoop...

I would recommend a slightly used 281hp Saleen.They sell for around mid-twenties on retail-Ebay.
I found one locally from a Dr. that wanted the car out of his garage that morning for $20k.Great handling car for the money.

When I go to Memphis Motorsports Park one of the spots in our trailer is occupied by a buddies '02 SS Camaro (M6, 4.10, all the goodies). It's stone stock except for the gears and a set of Nittos, and I've seen him go 12.45@107+. I shudder to think how quick a base Z or Formula would go since they don't have to carry all the weight from the extra bells/whistles! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Rob my buddy Chris has a 01 Z28 Bone stock LS1 6 speed. All he had done was a Whisper lid, MAF, Smooth bellows, and a Loud mouth exhaust, and ran a 12.84 @ 111mph on stock tires and stock gear. Them cars RUN!!! He actually wants a piece of you! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The cool thing would be to get a 1LE SS Camaro. They are bare fisted street warriors with no options....crank windows, no power locks, etc.

That interior is some kind of photo doctoring or aftermarket. The interiors do look cool with retro styling. Seats, gauges, trim, shifter, etc. all with a retro theme.

The shaker hood is the coolest thing I have seen put on a modern car from the factory....man, Ford is sure on the ball in the hi-po car dept! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
