In light of the overwhelming popularity of the Members Rides forum, and with the increase in sYc Membership and the additional funding that has been generated thanks to our Members and Sponsors, we have been able to secure more floor space to showcase other cars along side the Chevrolet based performance cars. Because we are listening to what our Members would like to see we have decided to make a very significant change to the Supercar Reunion coming up on Labor Day .We would like to include a limited quantity of high quality, low production muscle...into our indoor display area.In essence we would like to include the cars that would pull up to the stoplight next to these awsum Supercars. This will include the best that the other makers had to offer...we would like to also include era race cars,Engineering prototypes, cars built using over the counter/back door performance parts !!! The Members Rides gives us an opportunity to see a lot of cool member muscle on the board...and now we want to see them in person at the best show on earth...The Supercar Reunion...This has been "on the table" so to speak since the very first SCR1. As membership has increased it seems fitting to incorporate some changes this year. Our goal is NOT to take away from Chevy Supercars as that will always be our main focus, but rather expand this awsum event to encompass more of the supercar hobby. As Yenko.net grows to include our Members Rides,we also want to see the Reunion grow and be an awsum event for everyone...If all goes well,{and it should} this will become a permanent addition to our ever expanding show.If you have a car you would like to showcase inside, feel free to PM any one of us at the SYC and let us know what you want to bring...keep in mind space is still limited and we want to have the finest significant muscle the manufacturers had to offer as well as race cars...cars will be considered based on the above on a first come, first served basis. This is a member driven club and we see this addition as a positive thing...

How do members qualify their car to be included in the "inside" show area? Do they contact you? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/BelairSucks.gif

Bob, thanks for taking the time to head up the Member's Rides secton on here, as well as at the SCR. I know it requires a lot of time, but I for one enjoying seeing what other "treasures" our members have lurking in their garages.

With the addition of Member's Rides at the reunion, could be even more interesting to see what rolls out of the trailers. Watching the ramp door come down to expose another supercar is my favorite part. Well, except for the drag racing.

It's great that the recent membership contributions have accumulated to a level of renting additional space at the Reunion. Last year we rented additional space, over preceeding years, then this year we filled up early and had the budget to support the additional space required for the biggest participant list ever!

What an opportunity to see the finest GM SuperCars on earth, then add to that the other HIPO and rare musclecars is just iceing on the cake. Thanks to all that donated to the cause for this year's show.

Tom...last year we had a small fee for racing participants and track attendees. Will there be an admission fee for the track this year? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Steve, good question. Here is what I am considering. To keep it simple, we are not going to charge a fee to race, just $5.00 per person. This way, hopefully, by the end of the day, all sYc members will have taken advantage of this rare opportunity to enjoy their cars in the most safe and enjoyable way possible.

Of course, as in the past, anyone who would like to contibute to the track fund is more then welcome. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
Hopefully this year we will not be paying to watch the jet dryer go down the track. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Also, we are pleased to announce that COPO Pete and his side kick JJ have agreed to do a clinic about the finer points of Pure Stock racing. Joining them, or should I say the pupil, will be Marlin Spotts. And with other experienced racers on hand, such as Rob, Casey, and an "oldie but goddie" Schonye, anyone needing a pointer or two will not have to venture far. And if this year's event is anything like past SCRs, there is a pretty good chance we will have a racing legend or two on hand.

As they used to say "Friday, Friday, be there for all of the non-stop action of rare musclecars racing side by side down the quarter mile asphalt strip". http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Not the betting type, but I would venture to say you like your car to much to drive it like it was intended to be driven... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif........I will put up some dough to the SYC site if ya whip on Frank, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

I'm not the one changin my rear gears from 4.10's to 3.73's http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Remember my trips down the track last August? Not the best times, but I had it to the floor every 6000 rpm shift - and that was racing against a Geo Storm! Imagine how hard it would be to 'baby it' against another Yenko Deuce http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Put some money where your typin is - if he beats me, I'll donate the dough to the sYc. Then, we'll sit back and have a http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I've gotten a "sneak-peek" at some of the cars that have already contacted us, and it's silly! You're gonna be hard pressed to see these cars anywhere else in the world, much less all under the same roof as the Chevrolet Supercars! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Marlin,
I'm still betting on you since you have a DISTINCT weight advantage!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif Just remember what Tommy K. told you; the LT-1 lives and THRIVES well above 6000 RPM!!!

Sorry Frankie but I told you earlier, Marlin draws first blood then I'm comin' in for the kill!!! We'll send your whimperin' butt back to Chitown with your tail between your legs!!!

This will be fun, a good day of racing does a body good!

We need to get this thread back to the original intention, which is the extra space and extra cool cars that will be attending - and maybe racing???
