Must be correctly and freshly restored with good paper. Prefer original drivetrain and prefer Rally Green, Hugger Orange or Black body paint. Must be a "needs nothing" car with complete documentation.

I've got a #2 condition Rallye Green 4spd '69 COPO Camaro that I'd consider trading, plus some cake...

How 'bout it, Shauger or Darren...let's make a deal http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I have no idea when it will be done. I figure a year at the minimum if I can find the funds to funnel into it. I took out a loan to buy the 68 LT1 car because I wanted something I could drive now.

I'm still looking guys. I prefer the RS option, but I'll consider all top quality, with good paper, Z's. Anyone know anything about the eBay seller in Fishkill, NY neighborhood that's advertising the black Z28, item #2486257354 http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Are you referring to Kenny Pascoe? I noticed the paint code was BB, but finding a -- paint code is pretty tough. I was hoping someone knew this particular car or the guy that resto'd it. I noticed his ad at Camaros.net for $52,000, so it must be pretty nicely done.

Well, let's see, wise guy...I've had direct/indirect car dealings in the last 12 months with several people here, plus I'm wondering how your response fits my description of what I said I was looking for http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I've had fairly smooth dealings with:
Joe Frohlich, Frank Chichercia, Kenny Pascoe, Joe Swezey, Brian Henderson, Kevin Hand, Matt Berger, Tom Clary, Pat Joiner, Chad Blomberg, Kevin Suydam, Tommy White, David Chamberlain, Jerry Miller, Jim@NWClassics, Bob Addcock, Frank Magallon, Joe Barr, Bob Gagliano, Paddock and Chris Short to mention a few.

One thing I will now gaurantee you though is: if Zedder has anything to do with the deal...it's probably not a car I'm interested in. But thanks for stopping in to check on my post. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

My mistake. I guess I was confusing your prior postings about liking unrestored cars and thought that you might be interested in probably the nicest unrestored Black '69 RS Z that I have ever seen. You had contacted me a few months ago about wanting one of the "top ten" '67 Z's in the country and I called around for you trying to help (I even told you that I didn't want the finder's fee you offered). Turned you onto to two very nice cars and you didn't pull the trigger because of other committments. No problem. Now I see this post and figure I'll try and help out again, but want to make sure you are serious this time so I don't waste my time or bother anyone by bugging them to sell their car. And that's the thanks I get! Don't worry LV, you won't be involved with any car that I have anything to do with - I think I'll do just fine http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

I had a cashiers check in my pocket at Charley's barn last spring, but he wouldn't sell it til Jody did a few more things to it. Hiya Jeff,

Nice to see you and glad you at least had the 68 out for a few runs. I should have this one completed in a week or two and installed most of the RS headlamps earlier today. Keep me updated as to when you get your car splashed and hopefully the cash rolls in for you to get her finished up. We all know they can be expensive.

Yes you read correct. The actual amount invested into my Z28 over the last 20 months is 75K US or about 100K Canadian. It is an X33D80 Rallye Green Z/28 with a GM Canada Build Sheet and Protecto Plate. I refitted the entire car with all new parts in and out. When it came to painting the car on May 5th, I had Rallye Green on the mixing Table and said screw it at the last minute...paint it orange with black stripes. That was my heart telling me to paint it a color I liked rather than what the build sheet showed, and thats when I decided to go Crossram M22 rather than install the freshened #'s 302 and M21. Thats another reason I am into this so fat. The second DZ drive line was another 15K. Either way...it was built as a keeper and will most likely stay in the family for years to come. I added the RS option to it and finished the front lights yesterday. I understand why LV wants an RS Z/28. They are purely a sexy looking ride!

I understand the color thing! For the first 3 months that I owned my gobi beige Yenko, I seriously considered painting it fathom blue - one of my favorite colors. Obviously I went back to the beige, but for a few months I was set on that blue http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The main thing is that you enjoy the car when it's done - even a blast or two down the strip doesn't hurt http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Could you tell me if it is possible for me to connect up with the owner of the pictured 69 so that I can ask about the wheel/tire combination that was used on that car. I would love to put a set of similar American Racing or Eagle wheels on my '68 Z and would like info on rim sizing, backspacing, and offset that even American Racing seems unable to provide me. I can't find a place to trial fit (I try - I buy)any so any info in this regard is very much appreciated - Thanks - Randy

Randy, the car that Phil (70 copo) posted is MY '69 Rally Sport Z-28-Orange/white. I put 15 X 7 Standard Torque Thrust on the front and 15 X 8 Torque Thrust on the rear. I did have to put bigger front springs on as they rubbed. Should be okay on your '68 because your wheel wells are rounder than the '69's.

Beautiful car Mark - I just wanted to try and get some fitment info from someone who has 'been there and done it' regarding what size of rims will or won't fit on my '68. My car sits up quite high compared to some other Z28's so it may help the issue a bit also. Incidently, what springs did you use to lift your front up a posted? Anyway, as I mentioned, American Racing surprisingly blew my inquiry for such info off, with virtually no assistance whatever...
I really need to know, if I buy some 16" or 17" x 8" Torque Thrust II's or Eagle 212's (the same I believe) with 4.5" backspacing and the minimal 0-3mm offset will they clear my 4 piston brake rotors (Z 28 model obviously) or will I end up with wheel clearance / tire rubbing issues? The only wheels I have managed to try on my car were 15" x 8" with 4" backspacing and they stuck out a fair way and interfered with the brake calipers where the edge of the centre hub and spokes begin. Maybe that was just due to the particular size that was available to me - or would a Corvette with similar brake calipers experience the same problem regardless of the size and offset etc? American didn't even address that when I asked, much to my disappointment - guess they have more than enough buisness and don't need to look for any more, obviously!
I really love that look on cars such as ours and intend on trying to get some if I can get it right the first time as here in Northern Canada dealers only bring in what you order and don't keep spare wheels for trial fitting - which makes it a "you order it - you buy it" deal as I alluded to. I know yours are 15" - but I assume with the same specs 16's or 17's wouldn't present any new problems with a 205 and 255 / 45 or 50 series tire... If you have any input that can assist me in confidently choosing either wheel and /or tire sizes that would work, it would be much appreciated... Randy
