OK Guys, who owns a 67 GTO Ram Air 1 car? I just bought an XS code 4 speed convert. 4.33 gear M21 car. Have a bunch of docs including correspondence from Jim Mattison saying it is one of 56 built and one of 6 PHS knows of today.

Anybody have any info on these or first hand knowledge?

Pretty neat car, sounds mean and really cranks with the RA and 4.33 out back...

Thanks for any input - just trying to learn more than what I have already read from the usual sources!

Yes - just showed up tonight. Cool car with great paperwork. It is nice to get a car that shows up nicer than what you were told and expected ! I almost dropped dead from the shock.

I'll take some better pics of my own, but here is one the p/o had on the Ultimate GTO site. Here is the link:

There was an article in a Pontiac magazine a few years back on 67 RA cars. I will have to go look through my collection and find it.

Great looking car.Was this car in Illinois at some point(Joliet,Illinois)? Looks like the one a guy I knew had found by talking to a guy at a parts store one day. Turned out to be a Ram Air car. Can't imagine there would be 2 of them.

Could be the same car, as it was in Illinois at one point. It was written up in High Performance Pontiac magazine in 1991 ,I belive ,when it was "discovered" and verified by Jim McGowan and Jim Mattison as being a legitimate RA 67. As of Oct. 2002 , Jim Mattison emailed the previous owner back and stated that it is 1 of 56 converts built , and one of six accounted for. 1 of 40 67 RA GTO cars in all body styles accounted for to that date as well. I think the total production was 751??

Odds are it is the same car you remember!

OK, now you are confusing me - or I have confused you.

I am glad Pete has another RA car, that has never been questioned or disputed by me!

My last post stated "so that makes 2, 38 to go!" meaning out of the 40 cars , if I have one and Pete has one, 38 are left to figure out where they are. Or, if you want to go the easy route, figure out where the other 4 converts are! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If you dig up the article on Pete's car, please share the info on what issue it is in. I'd like to see it.

------Back in the day I knew of one of these cars in central Ohio. Mt. Vernon I believe. It was silver with a black gut and black top. Had the 4:33s and all. It was a pretty stout ride as I remember. The owner and I didnt get along as we were both dating the same girl. Wonder where the car went?..............Bill S

I thought Pete McCarthy 1967 Ram Air car was a hardtop that he bought new and is a race car now.

I do know of a 1967 Ram Air GTO. Tyrol blue, white interior, 4spd, 4.33's, NO PS, NO PB, NO console and hood tach. The car was sold new at Knaffel Pontiac, Akron Ohio. It is still in the area, I'll see what I can dig up. MUST HAVE MOOORE PICS OF YOUR CAR. SWEEEEET RIDE!
