676767,

The ZL-1 Vin list has been public knowledge since the early '80's. The complete list was published in one of the auto mags in '81? 82?

Where have you been? Ed Cunneen released the ZL1 Vins in paper form many years ago, and they've been on this site for several months now.

If you would take a minute to look before spouting off you would see that the ZL1 vin list was posted on this site on March 24 2004. That was long before anyone here had ever heard of Al Bain or Greg at DPE. No go back to playing golf or whatever it is you are doing.

The credit for release of the ZL1 Camaro vin list should go to Doug Marion who at the time was editor of Super Chevy and Vince Piggins the Chevy Product Promotion Engineer who worked on Chevy's back door underground racing support.
Doug wrote an article in Super Chevy 1981 that contained the ZL1 Camaro vin list that Vince gave him.

Ummm lets see Bain or whoever you are this week...you come here and post the above garbage like you are accusing us of hearing about "Gregs" list from Vince Piggins and then posting the numbers here. You have to realize you have said or done NOTHING that would influence ANYONE or ANYTHING around here...do you think for some reason anyone considers anything you say as legitimate ? You thought you were slick by having your different user names here but you didn't fool anyone...just yourself....now you cry foul because you get absolutely no respect...I think you were entertaining at best...but none the less a jerk.I probably shouldn't say that being a Moderator here but I for one am sick of your useless input....go play golf...quit wasting your time around here....and ours. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

Ok nice. What vins are the 70th and 71th car pretty please with sugar on top! Man that came out like a line from the movie "Pulp Fiction". I don't know who you are, but it's obvious there is some bad blood going on here between you and some others here on this site. If you do have any info on a possible legitmate #70,#71 Zl-1 cars your information would be invaluable to the people on this site. If you'd like to share this info we would love to see it. Thanks Brent

Yes, 69 ZL1 Camaros, 2 ZL1 prototype Camaros and 2 ZL1 Corvettes. So there were 73 ZL1 cars made. Does his list have the VIN's from the 2 prototypes listed? That would be a real good test of the list.

i have read all the posts at this site as well as the other two, in my opinion you were also rude. i'm waiting as well as others to here about these docs. hopefully you and tim can make it happen and settle this once and for all. i think your a little out of your league here. not saying i'm in that league but others here surely are.

There was also a 1970 Camaro ZL1 built. It escaped the factory because a GM employee Bill M took it home.

Yes, but that was an engine TRANSPLANT on an existing car he owned, and used for trying out various options, installations etc. not a factory installed ZL-1
...I heard the 2 prototype 69 ZL-1's were scrapped..were they not?
