Not sure if y'all have seen this one yet, but I lifted it from a thread on Moparts on old skool paint jobs. Check out that "Clary Wanna-Be" in the far lane ...... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Love those '68 factory Hemi Barracudas. Note the green brake drums. Keystone mags. Put mufflers on it and drive it on the street just the way it is.

That pic is stupid cool, Case! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif And yeah, that appears to be Ed Hedrick's '69 Y-Camaro in the far lane...if you'll think back to Collinsville, that was the gentleman that was makin' laps in our yellow car! WAAY COOL!! I think he was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the yellow submarine through the manifolds and on the skinnies! Heck, Dave McCutcheon's boy, Reid, even got to ride along ride along with Ed on a 12.5 pass!

Sweet paint job on the Cuda...wish racing would take more of a "retro" turn back to those days...

Car on the bottom right is from the dealership that sold my red COPO. I believe it's driven by Charlie Rihl, the dealership sales manager who signed all my car's paperwork. I know he was driving a Z-28 earlier in the year, but this looks like it could be a COPO car? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

are the histories of these cars known, or have they disappeared into bracket race beaters or barn finds.

This confirms the history of my car! Now I can put a face (a very young face) to all the conversations I have had, over the phone and via email, with Al MacNamara and Charlie Jacobs. The car still stands as it did in 1969.

I attached a photo from 1969 with Charlie's comments.

Here is the previous discussion about my car with photo from 1969.

SS/E Vintage Drag Racer (http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=racing&Number=25039)

Can I get a copy of that Dragster?

Thanks for the post that article was great!

It's been confirmed this car was a COPO camaro. This was one(1) of two(2) camaros built as a program cars for Al MacNamara and Mac Chevrolet. The sister car is pictured in that photo captioned "Charlie Jacobs vs. Al Mac". My only question is this; was the other car the ZL-1 car?

Does anyone on this board own the other identical car?

Where is Dick Harrell at during this MFG. points race? I am only asking because Harrell supposedly prepped both car in 1969, which explains the clutch driven T400 that came with the my car.

Always with the questions!

That is too freakin' cool, Rich! That car has it in spades!! And being SS/E further documents it's 427 heritage, as the 427/425hp Camaros were natural SS/D cars, but you are allowed to hang more weight and run down a class...

As for Harrell, he woulda been drivin' his funny car, as we was world champ in '69...

The Dick Arons/Gordy Foust SS/E with the "Berger Chevrolet" on the door, is currently owned by our own Matt Murphy. It was at the 2003 Fall Chevy Vettefest. At that time it was still in its original paint.
