<font color="green">"I purchased it from a fellow SYC member in October '04. It's Fathom Green, black vinyl top, 4 speed, with fresh paint and a driveline rebuild. The 427 runs fantastic. Instant response, great idle, very dependable and goes like hell! The photos reflect the condition of the car when I got it. At this point I'm installing the correct tach and gauge setup, adding a few underhood decals and putting a trunk kit together (jack, spare, etc.) The purchase included the original paperwork on the car from Yenko Chevrolet, which is always a good thing!"

"With the Michigan winter, I haven't had the opportunity to spend a lot of time behind the wheel, but that's gonna change in a couple of months! Plans include spending some time at Milan Dragway to wring it out a little bit, once the weather breaks!"

Like it with the vinyl top. Hint: Paint the D-spokes Argent Silver. It'll make them stand out from all the other gray-painted D's out there.

I really appreciate the compliments from everyone about the Yenko...And wanted to add my thanks to the club as a whole. Here's to all of you! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif And Rob...Got the info about SCR8, I'm planning on it!

Are you planning on Racing it at SR8? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Yeah, but I gotta get a feel for the car, first, which'll happen once the weather breaks here. Most of my time in the past has been with Shelby Mustangs, so the Yenko is a new experience. Gotta learn to drive it before I can race it!

The Shelby is black/gold stripes, 289/306 HP, auto trans. A really sweet ride, nice acceleration and great handling. Comparing the two, I'd say the Shelby is a cruiser and the Yenko is a bruiser! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Not sure of the total number, but an interesting fact is that NONE of the X66 cars (first batch) came with factory vinyl tops. A factory installed vinyl top was not seen on a Yenko car until the X44 and X11 cars, although I know of at least one X66 car (Charley's car) that had an aftermarket top installed prior to being sold as per buyer request.

The Fathom Green cars are real good looking cars. Any Fathom Greem Muscle Car gets my attention. Nice ride, enjoy the feel of it....BKH http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I got some of the correct paint from the supercar workshop and painted my wheels and you would not believe the difference, money well spent.

I was kind of wondering where those decals on the valve covers came from? I've never seen those before.

Yenko produced those decals during the Supercar era and stuck them in all sorts of places... many of Don's personal items even have these stickers plastered on them. I don't believe they were ever affixed to any the valve covers originally though, but i've seen them on several restored cars. These decals are also reproduced now, but similar original decals did exist from Yenko.

I got the decals from Rick's First Gen. Camaro parts. Thought they'd looked cool on the valve covers, and can be easily removed for the stock look!

I have several estate items with the r/w/b crest decal on them, some with a black/silver crest decal on them, other items, such as engine parts, have tags with the Yenko logo stamped on the tag, and even some items with Yenko simply scratched in the finish. Almost every book and magazine I have from the estate has the Yenko stamp on it. Yenko made sure anything connected to the dealership was marked. I was told this was for two reasons. A. for advertising purposes, B. to keep things from "walking off".
