You can also stay at the Fairfield next door. I just made my reservations a minute ago. Stayed there last year and it was nice.

Charley, that black stuff on the walls wasn't black paint? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif That would really raise hell with my allergies. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Roger

uummm I can tell you guys are not joking, I work in commercial buildings and that is no laughing matter, people can really get sick from that stuff...can someone pm with the facts... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

Not joking. Out here in Ca. that building would have been evacuated. Black Mold is very serious stuff. Out here you hire certified crews to work on it and they enter the rooms wirh gas masks on and the clean up and testing costs are amazing.. I was in shock they were renting those rooms. Things get treated differently in differtent parts of the country I guess. I think the mold was left over from a leak they had and was limited to one group of rooms and I would imagine the place has been cleaned up by now.

Ask Hilton Hotel Chain about Mold. They built a new tower within their Waikiki property. It sat vacant for sometime while they gutted and re-did the interior a 2nd time due to mold somehow showing up. They thought it was best to go that route instead of just the subject area. Guess they thought it best to get it all and not let it appear in other parts of the building, along with not taking the chance of a big payout to guests!!!

its treated like the plague around here as it should be!!, people get very serious respiratory problems and can even croak while being treated...Having a room there dont make me feel to good..... and its not like were staying at Motel 6 for 39 bucks either, I will give the GM a buzz on monday and see what he has for any cleanup info, no BS if he dont know anything or plays stupid I am moving in with Frankie.

what rooms did you guys have that were scary???

depends how the HVAC system is set up, if each room had its own heat pump that recirculates the burps and farts you are probably ok if you stay out of that area..on the other hand if they pull into a central type system thats the scary one it get's into the duct work and grows like crazy..nice warm place with a little humidity is a bad place for mold to be hanging it grows like wild fire.

also if they did not trash the heat pumps from those rooms I would be real leery of those rooms, thats why I asked where abouts you guys were when you saw the stuff, we are booked on the 4th floor.
