This beautiful 1969 Indy Pace Camaro Z-11 is owned by Kasey and Sandy Vandenberg (Z11 396).

Kasey and his wife have owned this car for 7 years and enjoy the car tremendously. This car is driven everywhere...it's definitely not a trailer queen!

Here is some information about this beautiful car. It has a 396/325hp engine, Turbo 400 transmission with a 3:07 positraction differential. The car has factory air conditioning, power windows, tilt wheel and power top, too! The car has other options that can be seen in the accompanying photos. All numbers match on this car...and the best part is that it has only 56,000 miles!

The Vandenbergs are no strangers to car shows, as this car was entered into the Camaro Nationals in Tennesee and it garnered 2nd place in the "non-trailered" class with 934 points! It also won the "Original Restored Class" at the Masters Mother's Car show this past July, in Knoxville. The car has been featured several times on ESPN2.

Kasey says that working on this car with his son Kase ( who also has a 1969 Camaro) has brought them closer together, given them a common interest and allowed them to spend valuable father/son time together. That's what this hobby is all about.

Kasey also said that his granddaughter Ashley will get this car in about 14 years...when she's old enough to drive...lucky girl!

WOW! Nice Camaro. You don't see many Pace car's with BB and air, or the 8-track stereo. Very nice, do you have any pictures of the rear speakers, very rare in a vert.

Kasey,

Your Camaro Pace car is so cool http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif! I think that it's great that you and your son Kase (member name OUTLAW on this site) share the love of american muscle together. You have 3 great cars that you should be very proud of, and I hope that you do well at the Mothers show this weekend in Tennesee! Make sure that Kase gets lots of pictures.

It's a pleasure to call you my friend! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

By the way, your granddaughter is a lucky girl!

We are looking forward to the show this weekend. The best part about the shows is seeing all the other cars and getting together with folks with a common interest.

Once again, great site and thanks for having us.

Those were a seperate over the counter Dealer Accessory item. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
They came at an extra cost, and were not included with the 8TK Tape Player Radio package.

Are the 8-track tape holders a 69 only option? I could sure use them on my 68.

First, I want to thank everyone for all there great comments, on my car. I really enjoy it, and I know someday my grand-daughter will too. I don't know about the 68 options for 8-tack holders, but it should be in you dealer option book for 68, as they were in the 69. I'm sure the other guys have that knowledge. Thanks again , for your kind remarks.

Here are two pictures that Kasey sent to me from the Master's Car show in Tennesee this past weekend. It's seems that a guy by the name of Don Garlits was really drawn to Kasey's Dana/Yenko Corvair...Don immediately recognized the two Hi-po dealer names and thought the Corvair was just WAY too cool http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif! He went to find Kasey to talk to him about the car.

The pictures show Don interviewing Kasey for the ESPN show. In the one picture, you can just make out the front of the car...

So the question is...do you guys want to see the Dana Corvair featured here? (BTW, with the help of some members of this site...Kasey has found out some more information about these cool cars! DId I mention that Kasey, Sandy and their son are WAY cool people?

I cast the first vote to have the cool Dana Corvair featured here...

Here are the pictures...

Well I would like to see it featured AND at the Reunion...there will be a 66 Stinger there and these 2 cars should hash it out on the track !!!

Z-11 396
07-27-2005, 05:06 PM
I tip my hat to the 66 Stinger, my little car is all show---No-Go !, I still have trouble getting the car in reverse..It's been 45 years since I drove a stick, not to mention a 4 - speed on the floor . Maybe alittle more practice , and then I'll just be 5 cars behind instead of 10....................

Chevy454
07-27-2005, 05:24 PM
Send me some pictures and I'll get'r'done! Also, I wouldn't lose sleep worrying about that other Stinger on the drag strip...it's a stock Stage 1, so it will be struggling to get out of it's own way! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Now, the Stage V we sold a while back, now *that* was a different story... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I'm also with Bob on the SCR8 suggestion...while you're riding this wave of fame, Kasey, you might as well come to Collinsville and get on "My Classic Car" as well!

Hello guys,
Thanks to all for the warm welcomes. This is an awesome site for muscle car dudes.

Kase, Thanks for the nice compliments on my car. You were just a little off on two numbers. She is only an L-78 375hp/396 RS/SS (I know that is what you really meant to say).
However, I'll certainly consider swapping old "Jezabel" for the aluminum head L-89 if the wife will permit.
