Last Friday, I bought a 1995 Firehawk convertible....I was looking at all this guys collectors cars, and he shows me a 67 Camaro that looks like it had been sitting for 30 years! I asked him about the 427 emblems on it, and he told me it was a real deal DANA Camaro! Its in need of a full restro....this has to be rare. Question...how many supercars did Dana make? Also he has a 427 4 speed vette, and a 70 442, that he got as a package deal....all from the same guy!!!....all cars are #'s match, but all need to be restored. Thanks, Troy OLien

I looked at it in a dark pole shed....its either maroon or red....it was very dirty! He just got all the cars recently from a guy that just moved to Minnesota from California. Do you know of this car?

About ten years ago I looked at a 427 Dana (said the owner) in a guys back yard in So Calif that was full of neat cars. This Dana (maroon) started life as a drag racer and at some point was wrecked and the drivetrain and interior parts were transplanted into another Camaro, the original car was a 67 or 68 (I don't remember which) and the donor body was the wrong year. I was able to find the previous owner who told me about the history.

Its a hardtop, and it has the weld on traction bars. The stock hood is missing, someone replaced it with a fiberglass cowl hood. I'm gonna try to get some pics next time I go there. And I want to look it over better. He says its the original Dana 427 engine. I'll get more info later. Troy

Depending on what the DANA Invoices show, the SS Hood could have remained or the DANA F/glas hood but it will be listed on the invoice as being changed out. Also not all DANA converted cars got the outside badging. Some owners just didnt want to pay the extra $$$ for the emblems.

Most likely started life as a SS 350 car and being a 67 there will be some other Mods that were made as well.

Talked to darrin and steve, this car is originally teal in color,it has a 74 454 in it,welded traction bars, deluxe interior, factory gauges,4 core radiator,headers,1" sway bar in front, muncie 4speed,has the 427 emblems and a licence plate from the 70s.that reads dana 427, no current paperwork as they are still trying to find it. hood carb and distributor were stolen. Anyone know if there is any kind of dana paperwork or have any?

Looks like it has both left and right side traction arms on the rear axle. Has that been seen on other surviving Dana cars?

Did they steal Firebird parts? Also, why haven't you mentioned the spoiler yet Jeff?

Depends on when it was converted. DANA installed them but it would be on the invoice as was the Hood/Traction bars etc. DANA invoiced every nut and bolt they used on their work orders.

I'll try and get some pics up later this week. so far the numbers show it is a true ss car and it came out of california. it had the 427 logo on the side and the traction bars. Darren took some pictures of some chalk marks during the restoration that may be helpful. I'm really not a car buff, I was just loking for a muscle car as a daily driver and bought it because the history seemed interesting.
