1969 Trans Am
This is one of the 697 TA’s built in 1969 and one of 520 Ram Air III with a 4spd. This car was sold on 11/26/69 at Frank Dreier Pontiac in Flatt River, MO. I have been in contact with all the owners except the original Mark Daniels of Webster, MO. The car having six previous owners is amazingly original and retains all its original components. The car was restored in 2003 by RPM restorations.

This is my first Pontiac, and what a Pontiac it is. The car has exceeded my performance expectations in both handling and acceleration. To me the “Pony Car” exemplifies the ultimate performance of that era, by incorporating the largest displacement engines in the smallest/lightest cars. The results are a well balanced car whose performance was not matched for over three decades.

I have always liked 69 TA’s because of their unique features and look. I became aware of this car in 1998 and kept in casual contact with the owner. Well, this past spring my perseverance paid off and I purchased the car.

Standard Feature of the 1969 Trans Am Package:
400 cubic inch Ram Air III engine
335 horsepower
430 lb-ft torque
10.75:1 compression
4-barrel Quadrajet carb
Chrome Valve Covers
Long Branch exhaust manifolds with Dual exhausts
Floor mounted 3-speed Manual Transmission
3.55:1 Ratio 10 Bolt Safe-T-Track locking rear axle
Exclusive Trans Am hood with twin functional scoops ramming cool air directly into the carb
Air Extractors on front fenders allow hot engine compartment air to escape behind the front wheels
High effort quick ratio power steering
High effort power front disc brakes
Heavy Duty Shocks
Heavy Duty Springs
One inch diameter front stabilizer bar
Front Lower Spoiler
Floating Rear Deck Lid Spoiler (marked as D80 on data plate)
Trans Am paint scheme: All were painted Cameo Ivory (50 on data plate) with twin Tyrol Blue stripes Striping was used on hood, roof, deck lid and spoiler (pedestals only), ending in a solid blue Tail panel
Trans Am decals on front fenders and rear spoiler
Blacked-out Grills
Woodgrain Steering Wheel (some later cars got a sport wheel)
The car is equipped with the following additional options:

M20 Transmission
Remote Mirror
Step Gauges and Tach
Tinted Glass
Am/Fm Radio
Rear Defogger
Deluxe Seat Belts
Rally II Wheels
Pedal Trim
Wood Shifter Knob
Mats Front

Beautiful car. I remember seeing one of those cars come screaming around a bend when I was a kid. The car was in Deal, NJ and I have never forgotten the sight of that thing flying around the curve.
BTW: what are the lines going across the radiator for?

Steve, The Boss 302 is the Z-28 of Mustangs! They are rising quickly in value so step up your Shopping efforts. They are very Cool Cars and Outhandle any Shelby made after 1966. DEE Snider of Quiet Riot had a very Nice 69 Yellow Boss 302. He is still up on Long Island maybe it's available....! If The COPO is still here, I will be at the Massey House on Thanksgiving Morning with it.

Steve...when you beat on this one...how does it "feel" compared to an L78 or L72 ??

Steve Shauger
11-01-2005, 06:54 AM
Pulls much stronger than the L34 and revs quicker. A little more torque than the L78 but less power above 5 grand, but fairly close. No comparison to the L72. The L72 has both more torque and revs quicker. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

The relationships I have formed within this forum are remarkable. The number of posts, and the scope of information is simply amazing. They played 19 songs and 2 solo's one by Kirk, one by Robert. Ended the night with Seek and Destroy! I actually had tickets to the Pensacola show and the New Orleans show but had to bail out of the one in Pensacola, regretted it every since. Can't wait till they tour again. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

I guess it will be quite a while until anyone plays in NO again http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif..I went down there quite a bit recently. Every morning we would hit the Court of Two Sisters for breakfast and then check out the street performers. Usually the mime and this really good hillbilly band. They were really good!, wish I remembered their name. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

I happen to play in a metal (hardcore) band here in MN and am well versed in all aforementioned.

Check it out here: Kill Switch (http://www.killswitch1.com) ...not to be confused w/ Killswitch Engage.

Stop by but put on your seat belts and helmets 1st. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
