Thought that folks here would like to see what one of the Team Camaro members recently pulled from a garage and is planning to restore.

The VIN was listed on Ed C's Berger 69 COPO Camaro list as well

At the risk of seeming nitpicky, it sounds like the car was not a new discovery and its existence was known for some time. Sounds like the buyer was just the one who was able to wiggle it loose from the owner. So, maybe not a great find, but a rather great buy? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

How much will the restoration cost? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
Even an "easy" resto can run $50K. Just the tear down for stripping and having the paint sprayed could run $20K. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
Great car, I hope he enjoys it as much as I do mine. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

the purchase price after 6 months and minds being changed
10 times was 60k so after resto total cost should be around
120k which should be a bargain
crg has missed again Kurt the car was dealer tranfered
and Lupe Ramos who we purchassed the car from bought from a dealer in alabama and his name is on the protecto plate
so i believe that would make him the original owner
feel free to correct me if wrong!!!
anyone out there have 3 dimpled rods and a crank? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I would love to find out who the original owner was of my car, but unless someone steps forward, or I get really lucky, I guess I'll just have to be happy with what I have.
I replaced 3 rods when rebuilding my motor, but I don't know what happened to them. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Great find! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif Send more pics as it's being restored. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Kasey, If things go as planned, hopefully, I will have her back together in the April/May timeframe. I will have plenty of pics to share when work resumes.

Bruce Hershberger just gave Mr. Thomas some original resto pics of the car to give to me.
Thanks Bruce. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Mr. Thomas also found some original pics of the car from the early 70's that he is mailing.
I should receive them this week.

Now Back to original thread (Sorry for the redirect).
I can't wait to hear some more details on this Berger COPO find. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Z10rod,
The protect-o-plate for your Berger Copo is a second owner protect-o-plate, not the original owner plate with all the drivetrain information. Kurt with CRG was correct.

It was Lupe that posted on 9/99 that he was the second owner.
Sure can't see how that deserves a slam like 'crg has missed again'..... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif And it was me that posted it, not the CRG.

Lupe also registered the car with us in '99...small world!
