Called MK recently. Got a quote that was far better than Hagerty and the MK service was great.

While I was with Hagerty had Zero claims and a good driving record, yet my rates continued to go up year after year.

Give Tamira a call at MK and quit funding Hagerty's TV Commercials and Katrina losses!

I too went with MK Insurance. Tammy and Jackie are great, they follow up and follow through in a promptly manner, they have the best rates, plus they help sponsor this fine web site. Enough said! Rob R.

Each car I insured with MK even got a seperate plastic holder for the proof of insurance card. Very nice! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

the plastic holder sounds nice. I ve had Hagerty for years and also have had increases without claims. How do I contact MK for a price quote when my renewal is due?

thanks

A Little FYI as I am in the insurance biz, and do a fair amount of antique coverage. Don't just accept what premium bill shows up in the mail, contact your broker or company directly and tell them it is being "shopped" and is the # you have on your bill the best they can do, Hagerty gave one of my clients a 40% rate DECREASE over last year, the collection was shopped to 5 other carriers, nobody has come close to the number, you should have at least 3-5 competing quotes to get a feel for the marketplace. I do business with other carriers as well, Hagerty is not always the best, but they were for this client. Have your broker shop your policy around or if your doing it yourself, ditto.

If I am claim free and my rates are increasing...and I can simply call my insurance company and tell them to quit screwing me over, what the heck does that say for the company that I trusted enough to give them my business? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I think not much. My 2 cents. Switch to MK. It is really that simple. I saved Hundreds and added a car Hagerty could not insure for anything close to MK's quote.

With that said we will see. So far so good!

Question, has your Homeowners premium gone down year after year.? has your regular use Auto premium gone down year after year.? probably not if you have been with the same carrier for a number of years. If your incumbent carrier charged you $1500 last year, you go out and shop it and the best # you get is $1000, you call your incumbent and beat them up and they price it @ $500, who you going with.?

The agent for my regular insurance is a personal friend. Nuff said on that one- I am taken care of and so are my rates. If I ever think I am not I will switch.

A good agent will find ways to save you money. BTW Hagerty had multiple chances to salvage me as a customer and multiple warnings that I was shopping. They simply did not care. They are getting so much of the market they are holding the line, and in doing so lost my cars. Oh well http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Like I stated earlier, Hagerty may not work for everybody, if you saved money and/or increased coverage with another carrier, Hats off to you.

Tamra was GREAT! I was having the old Need ins to register, vs need registration to get insurance problem with the 70 CoPo. Tamra called the agent for me and faxed some paperwork over and it was a great example of customer service. I have since told three friends about them, and everyone has had nothing but good to say about them.
