Rich,

Any of these cars exposed to any flood damage from the hurricane?

Dan.

The only one that had flood damage was the 1 69 LM1 that is flagged in the ad. The hugger orange one, it was in chalmette. My old shop and my house was not in the flood zone (but the shop was looted, TWICE. Three times if you count the military that broke in and "borrowed" a trailer and "tools")

So Rich, were your "borrowed" trailer and tools returned or recovered?

Sure, they put them right back where they got them, or so I was told.........
Nope. Never got them back. Of course, the insurance did not pay, said that they could not determine what was looting and what was used by the govt. Also, it was a "Flood" event (even though my shop got no water!).

Rich - you should make a claim against the military for the lost tools. Do you know what unit it was? National Guard or active duty? I may be able to help; you should be able to e mail me via my profile here.

FYI - I'm from the Slidell area, but left many moons ago for school and then active duty. Do you know Sonny Nuccio from Chalmette? Believe he had some cars that went under, including my old '66 425 hp 427 Vette coupe, which I sold to him in about 1995 or so.

Hi Scott! Small World. Yes, the hugger orange car you see listed (the LM1 car not the X66 car) is one of Sammys (Sammy Nuccio). In fact, I still need to get the bottom portion of the fold down rear from him. He lost mucho NOS parts and cars in the storm. He had this LM1 car and and his SS conv (The blue one) that he had since high school both go under!
I'll have to snap some pics of the cars. Man, what a waste!

I have +/- 20 Law Firms as clients. Looks like a suit is out of the question. I *know* the jefferson parish police dept. was involved. An officer mentioned that they used bolt cutters to snap the lock on the yard fence. Not to mention, they were using the stuff to save lives. I would look pretty bad if I sued them because they "took" the trailer et al to save lives.

I know Sammy as well, but haven't seen him in 20 or so years. I was sorry to hear that all of their stuff went under; that's got to make them sick. I guess Sonny relocated to Mississippi; he recently bought a '69 SuperBee from a friend of mine in Carriere.

If the military made off with your stuff, you're correct that a suit is likely out of the question (sovereign immunity) but you should be able to make a claim, if you can determine what unit was involved. Let me know if you need more info here.

Mine was maroon, black interior, knockoffs, sidepipes, 4 sp, 4.11s. Does select have a website? If so, please let me know. I might be interested.

Thanks,

Scott

This was a darker vette. I asked around today and was told that it was Gene Taglavoria's old 425hp vette. Shame, it was a rotissorie resto trailer queen.....

Thanks, Rich. Last time I spoke with Sonny, he still had it, but that's been several months ago.
