You need a price

Sorry guys, I am not sure what the car is worth. I am not sure how realistic I have to be on price so how about 28K or best serious offer.

It may be an SS car but it sure ain't a "factory 427 Nova". there is no such animal. Good luck with it.

There must be an ad running someplace that says.."come to the SYC site to sell your stuff"...I am bothered by so many first timers joining here just to sell something http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif...might be nice to see some stars under their name first http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

I agree there are alot of new people trying to pedal cars and a few dealers that keep pushing theyre cars back to the top page (I often just pass over this section lately)...As for guys with money on this site Im sure there are some but most are very educated on cars and just laugh when a Clulker gets advertised.. Im all for new members but contribute to the site or aleast get a paying membership. I for 1 wont buy from a newbie who is just posting cars for sale unless a good sorce says theyre a stand up guy.

I think we need to make the classifed available for paying members only.

No disrespect to Ol' Boy Im talking in general.

my fishing sites require a 20 post min before a add can be placed, may weed out some of the dillweeds, http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

any dillweeds with '67 Camaro stuff can call me though http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree that it would make sense to have the classifieds for paid members. It is a small price to pay to have the exposure this site gives to 'for sale' or 'wanted' ads.

I would disagree to having a minimum post count. Lots of people just do a lot of reading and rarely post. I have seen on other boards that people will put in worthless, BS posts just to get their count up and get a new "title" next to their name.

Actually I have reviewed this site many times for information and just never bothered to sign up. I thought someone here may be interested in the car, I didn't mean to offend becuase I was a newbie. It seems I may had made a mistake. Moderator please feel free to delete the thread. Thanks.

OlBoy, I don't think you offended anyone. It's just that there have been a rash on people that joined this site just to list cars and parts for sale. If you look at about half of the cars for sale you will see that the people that have them listed only post for sale ads here and seldom or never post any useful info. I'm not trying to stir anything up but SUPERSPORT is a perfect example of this. It seems that the only post he makes are to add a picture to his for sale ads just to bump the ad to the top again. Don't get me wrong, he lists some very nice cars but that's all he uses this forum for.

James I don't see any donation stars under your name? I have been a member and visiting this forum since 2001 and you 2007? Am I missing something? If you don't mean to "stir anything up" then don't. We will check back to make sure you donated and you recieve a PLEDGE PIN! All of this because you are truly concerned about who posts what, where.

I knew this would be your response. It's the same one you had the last time someone mentioned your for sale ads and you finally made a donation to the site. It has nothing to do with who has the stars under their name. I'm not the one using the site to try to make money. I haven't posted any ads here and probably never will. If I ever do, I will be sure to make a donation to the site.

James you have to finish a car before you can sell it. Why wouldnt you donate now if you frequent the forum and take away knowledge with your questions? Makes sense to me. Now go get yourself that pledge pin....I am done playing with you now. Thanks

Contrary to SUPERSPORT's command...You don't have to donate.

I personally don't mind the members that just post cars for sale as long as they are interesting.

No Charley. I really think he should donate, or buy one of my cars. As you know just having some fun..

What does finishing a car have to do with selling it? I have no desire to "finish" a car just to sell it. I'm not in this hobby to make money off it like some people are. Other than some money, what have you contributed to this site? All but a couple of your posts have been in the for sale forums. You've listed what, a $1M or more worth of cars here and donated a couple hundred? Pretty cheap advertising if you ask me.

Can you elaborate as to why this car is a 'real '69 SS'? I looked at the pictures and read the description, but I don't really see any clues for it being an SS - much less a big block SS. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

It looks to me like this was a factory air car and I didn't think you could get air with a L78, could you ? Check the pics of the pass. side cowl area isn't that a cut out for your air conditioning?

you just dropped your price 50% in 4 days.

anybody that was interested in the car will just sit back and wait now.

The cut-out on the cowl was one of the items that caught my eye. AC was not available on BB Novas, but was available on SB SS Novas.

The heater box cover is actually being reproduced, and I think that's the only BB item I saw on this car. I noticed the SB rad/holddown, no power booster, '72+ dash bezel, '71+ steering wheel with the SS emblem installed where the clock goes, etc... Just a few items that make you go 'hmmmm....'.

Any paperwork in those front seats?

Charley Lillard
05-22-2007, 06:38 PM
Ol Boy...Basically they are gently telling you your car was not a big block car when it started life. That hole in the top of the cowl is very telling.
