Need to make a quick move on another cool car, so my blue '62 Belair 409/4spd is on the block. This Belair was restored by Gagliano, but still a nice car. I don't think I have any pix of the car with me here in Alaska, but I can have my guys take some new pix later today/tomorrow. Pix take forever to load from here, plus my summer schedule doesn't allow me to get on-line every day...Gags and Verne know more about the car than me anyways. Fairly priced at $65,000

Probably best to PM Gags for more specs, history and particulars http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

My apologies to all that have inquired about my '62 Belair for not being better prepared on this end to field your emails/PM's. I will have fax'd copies of the doc's and other particulars that I have for this car in my hands tomorrow afternoon so I don't have to rely on my memory to answer your many questions. I promise to respond to everyone in the order I was contacted by each of you. I'm 4,000 miles from my files on this car and I don't want to respond to questions relying on my memory and run the risk of inadvertently misrepresenting the exact paperwork that comes with the car.

I had hoped that Gags could pinch hit for me while I'm vacationing, but he's pissed at me for offering the car for sale right now and took his phone off the hook. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

Sheeeez, what a can of worms I've opened for myself by not being better prepared. Ask around...this is not normally the way I do business. I'll have my $hit together tomorrow afternoon, then get back to each of you.

I'll also vouch for the car itself, as I've spent some time up close and personal with it over the past few years. While I'm certainly no belair expert, its definitely one of the nicest 6-2's I've ever seen, and an awesome color combo you never see anywhere. It always attracted a ton of people anywhere it went, Its a Super Chevy Gold Class car...I think there's only something like 65 cars in the US that are certified "gold". If I had 65k I'd buy it... heck, if I had 65k I'd do alot of things.... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Boating sucks!!

This morning, I will install the 3rd Cummins factory "Recon" engine on the starboard side of my halibut fishing boat since last Thursday. Last Thursday, after only 90 hours [6 fishing trips], the 1st factory recon engine sucked a valve when we were 65 miles offshore. It took 7 hours to limp the 25 ton boat back to the harbor on one engine in 6' seas...then the 2nd factory recon engine had a defective oil pump we discovered after a 2 hour sea trial on Sunday. Hopefully the 3rd time is the charm???

I'll be back near my PC in 12-14 hours, then I'll commence responding to those that showed interest in my 62 Belair [in the order each contacted me]. The file on the car showed up here yesterday, but I haven't even opened the FedEx box yet. Hope to have my boating woes resolved this evening and be able to get down to business.

Bob Gagliano got back home from vacation Sunday evening and at my request sent an email to the 1st guy that responded to my ad last week. Bob sent me this copy of that email last night:

My old 62 is stunning still. It took me 7 years to complete. I bought the car out of Colorado as a 409 car thru a friend of mine , Tom Dietz. I bought it without an engine. I received pictures of the car which showed a cross rammed 409 in it with a 4 speed. Unfortunately the motor didn't come with the car ! It was painted yellow and had an Impala trunk lid on it ! It looked weird with 6 tail lights. I took the car off the frame and went about restoring it over the next 7 years. Body and paint was by Performance Restorations in Mundelein Illinois. It is lacquer with a urethane clear coat. The rest of the car was assembled by JC Classics out of Kenosha Wisconsin. Unfortunately there was no paperwork with the car. Paperwork on a 409 is nearly unheard of, however I believe it was a true 09 car . The person I bought it thru is a die hard 09 and 62 guy. In the late 80's people were a lot less crooked ! Steve has priced that car very fairly..low in my opinion. If I was able to buy it back right now I would not hesitate. IMO, it is absolutely the finest 62 Bubbletop on the face of this earth !!! Best of Show at Chicago Vettefest scorring 997 out of 1000...several Gold Spinners too and it was invited to the Top Gun Showcase at Vettefest. They dinged the car for having dust on top of the frame rail !!! They used mirrors to find it. Judges said there are no perfect 1000 point cars so they had to find SOMETHING !!!! Hope you buy it. Its the nicest you will find anywhere.

Like I said, I will respond to everyone via PM/Email before the end of the day tomorrow...but meanwhile, the above info is all I have to add right now.

Thanks for the help, Bob! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
