This is "Race on Sunday, Sell on Monday" epitomized. Lucy Below herself just sent me some addtional historic photos, even more copies of correspondance and an autographed print for the new owner. 'Lucy's Larceny' was one of a triumvirate of "Dollar" Factory Ford race cars fielded by Foulger Ford. Originally piloted and tuned by Ken Myers, this "R" Code 428 Mach1 has set numerous NHRA Class records.
Lucy Below is famous in her own right, setting two NHRA class records of her own, striking fear into the heart of the "Drag-On Lady" Shirley Shahan, on her march to WCS Super Stock honors. Lucy ran 11.72 seconds in SS/HA Class besting the national record of 11.80. Lucy's celebrity brought her to appearances on the Merv Griffin and Dick VanDyke shows.
The car retains much of it originality, interior and underside still in "as raced" patina. The original motor and engine bay have been refreshed and the body repainted in the original blue and white color scheme. Documentation includes record certificates, official time slips, vintage magazine coverage, letters from sponsors Ford and SUN, as well as copies of personal correspondence.
